  • We have 3 primary systems and +- 16 Additional pollers in a MSP setup. I am definitely in agreement to this as I also get beaten up daily on our downtime slots when doing upgrades. Trying to co-ordinate downtime slots between 80+ customers spread across continents and time zones is also not something that is easily…
  • Hello Oiram, Thank you for the above, as mentioned in a previous conversation, if I buy a service from a Vendor, I would expect this functionality to exist within the capabilities of the application to make this intelligent decision. If you buy a car, you don't need to have a steering wheel fitted after market to get it on…
  • I tried following this methodology, still does not work in a single subnet deployment model?? GW = x.x.x.254 11111110 VIP = x.x.x.60 00111100 <-- Used to be my primary poller IPv4 address Primary Poller = x.x.x.1 00000001 Secondary Poller = x.x.x.11 00001011 Still gives issues. Best of all is, Solarwinds' response - oh,…
  • Hi Everyone, I just upgraded NPM to ver 10 RC2 and changed the VM environment to have the servers running on Vsphere (4). We also took away 2 of the processors on the front-end/polling engine. Disks are still at raid 5 on the DB (recommended that it is set to RAID 10 (1+0) and on a physical box, but we are unable to do so…
  • Hi, We are having the same issue running npm 9.5.1 on Win 2003 VM (ESX 3.5/4). Polling engine keeps stopping for no apparent reason. DB server is also a VM on the same cluster. Running SQL 2005 SP3, logged a call - ref Case #155628 CPU, memory and disk space is not the issue.
  • Would it help the IO if you span the DB on multiple disks if you run a VM environment?
  • The new release sounds very promising! Extending the reach and collapsing the management overhead to upgrade? I like it! Would like to see more native integration in terms of tech/product support around Viptela/SD WAN, HA units (Cisco ASR & Fortigate firewalls), "VDOM aware" similar like the 12.2 release for ASA's which is…
  • I had similar issues on NPM 10.x as well as v11. The moment I changed my default view it would work 100%, however, when I close my browser and open it up again, it would give me this error. Also tried different browsers - same thing. It is as if it keeps the old session in memory/the web front-end gets confused as to what…

  • We have deployed two primary polling engines, each with an additional poller and one with an additional web-front-end as well. primary reason was total segmentation and control. We have a mixed breed of physical servers and virtuals, however, DB is preferred as physical. We currently monitor just over the 30K elements in…
  • Hi - I know this is a very dated post - however, try decreasing the number of assigned CPU's you have on the poller? The more CPU's you have the longer your wait times for the CPU's to become available to serve new cycles...
