Automation automation and more automation! Not just vague AI proposals and promises, actual updates and changes to my environment that reduce alerts and simplify my job, my NOC's job, and the stability of my systems. I'd ask for a clone of myself, but my wife is happy enough with just one of me.

Does this include if the "Enable WinRM" box is checked? Does this include if the LEM Status is set to Default? Our licensed node count seems high. We're on version 2024.1.1. Yes, I've already opened a support case. Yes, we plan to upgrade, later this year.

I did look there as well as on the agent, but even when running a "List Resouces" it was hard to tell what was updating. I'll keep digging, and if I find I'll share here.

We hopest thee enjoyest the finest of holidays! Plenty of food, presents, fun, family and friends.

If anyone is still interested, I was able to set this up, some years ago, at a previous employer. I endeavor to recall what I did here: In Trap Viewer I added a Trap Rule for the particular traps. Added an action to Tag the Trap, setting a trap-specific Trap Tag. And then my memory is foggy. Somehow I got the Alert system…

Thank you! Quite useful; I will be adapting this for our environment.

We'd be getting much more exercise, walking from desk to desk.

Whoa - where did you find that? Ancient days!

And that packaging should be unopenable without explosives or a high-power laser.

I've been thinking of ways to detect unconnected but active ports so we can report usage and thus availability. Perhaps, once a port is connected, this is recorded in SolarWinds, and then we could alarm on "was connected but now it isn't". There would be different port states: active and connected, active but not yet…

Right now we are transitioning from CA Spectrum to NPM for monitoring our networks. We will be keeping CA eHealth for a while, because of its excellent reporting capabilities and tie-in to CA's Netflow Analyzer tool. For servers, storage, and other systems we use CA Spectrum also, to be replaced by CA UIM or ITRS Geneos…

How did you replace all the excellent exercise your teams gained by this 4 block walking?

And other search engines! Go*gle is not always the most relevant, and they LOVE tracking your searches.

If you have ASAs this is a useful introduction to this new feature, and I'd recommend watching it.

That's Sara Bellum.

Thank you to Xerox for inventing the menu, and the mouse and the point-and-click interface. I cannot imagine managing modern monitoring with only a command line!

That must have been a tame bear!

The Interventions only work for me AFTER I've created the trouble ticket. Once it is submitted THEN the problem clears.

Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so. Perfstack is interesting, and should benefit my users if I can get their attention on it.
-
Time - these things have built up over time, because of our own doing, sometimes due to the pressure of time and workload, sometimes because we took the quick-and-dirty solution and are paying for it now. Time, which is money as has been said, plus people's dedicated time, are what we need to fix things. The questions from…

I've accessed the site through both Safari and Firefox, so far successfully. I was looking for the old Labs so I can review software I've not used directly in anticipation of new employment. Where did they go? Did I miss that in the informational missives posted before the migration? Thanks!

Drat, didn't finish in time.
