I just tried changing the shell back to bash, but leaving the /.bash_profile pointing to the home/serviceaccount/commands directory. I then tried testing the APM script again and it is showing a new error indicating APM trying to create the script locally with cat. I think the best thing to do at this point would be to…

That isn't exactly the issue that I am experiencing. I appreciate the info. My issue pertains to a specific router event that is triggering 4 different times since I have 4 advanced alerts. I had to create 4 alerts to cover my time of day issue. Breakdown below: Morning hours: M - F 12am - 5:59am (delay 30 minutes)…

Well, as long as you don't check the box to write to memory, then reloading the device would fix it, but yes, I noticed that as well. I do think that the command script would do the same thing though. I don't believe that is the config snippet as much as it is your choice of communication method, TFTP versus Telnet.

lchance, thanks for the reply. i believe it to be related to the VACL as well. anyone else have some insight? thanks

Thanks for the reply. I want to make sure I am clear with my question; I am not asking if kiwi can accept syslog over TCP, since there are several different RFC's for this with the newest being RFC 6587. I am asking does kiwi specifically support RFC 3195, which uses BEEP and encapsulates syslog messages in XML. This is…

Thanks for replying aLTeReGo. Actually wanted to go the route of utilizing rbash as the shell assigned to the service account. I created a directory under the service account home called commands. I then created softlinks from /bin/ps to /home/serviceaccount/commands. This works great. However, when I try to run a test…

I know some people are running the web-only orion. If anyone has any suggestions, or if any Cirrus programmers have any suggestions, I would appreciate them. Thx.

I have also become more interested in compliancy reporting. I have tried to tweak some of the canned reports to cut out false positives. An example would the the Cisco Policy under the SOX Report. It looks things like having an enable secret set up by searching for a string of text "enable secret." However, it is searching…

Awesome. Thanks Chris. I will try installing the integration module on the web-only and post back my results.

Well I just made a simple device template to download the running-config at least off of my WLC. For now, that will have to do.
-
This would be a valuable device to have Cirrus manage in my environment as well.
-
Sweet! Thanks Chris. That is exactly what I needed.

i am also awaiting this integration. until then, i have uploaded a template to the sharing zone to at least download the config from the WLC. hope this might help a bit, but it does nothing for the monitoring of the lightweight aps.

Does anyone have an update to this thread? I am having the same issue. I am using telnet and have verified that my login is correct, but I am not able to pull down the config off the concentrator. I would appreciate any info on this. Thanks

Are the devices that are failing connected via low-speed links, i.e. fractional T1 frame-relay? I have the same issue, but I believe it to be either the device was down at the time, which of course would not show a TACACS+ passed authentication, or it is taking too long for Cirrus to get the reply back from the log in. You…

I now have the service account limited and APM is still able to monitor services. In order to accomplish this, I changed the shell for the service account to rbash. I then created a directory under the /home/serviceaccount/ called programs and edited the .bash_profile to reflect this directory. Soft links were created for…

Is anyone running different time of day alerts for the same general network event? Any input would be appreciated.

Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Don't want to beat a dead horse, but I also agree with Vic; fully functional web GUI as well as integration with Orion. Also, the ability to force rediscover individual nodes without enabling node monitoring would be very useful. I just wanted to include myself to the list. I am also to provide more feedback through a…
