Hi, MESVERRUM. Thanks for your feedback; Here's the thing, on one of the routers we have, I'm sending flow data from its LAN and WAN interface ONLY. Both interfaces are monitored in NPM and its currently showing in NTA. I also have the settings below. But on the NTA event messages section, I'm getting a lot of event…

This is great CourtesyIT! Sometimes we tend to go much deeper on things as we go along and forget the basics; How many times we stopped and tried thinking back of something so basic that we have not done for a very long time which suddenly requires us to do it again but has completely escaped our unfailing memory.…

This might be an old post/question but just to share my experience; The work around here is to give the user full control folder permission where the map is saved which is usually located in the directory C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Network Topology Mapper. Once permission has been modified under the security properties of…

Did this happen just after restarting the Orion service? If so, please try to do another restart, it could be that there were some components that did not start successfully causing this behavior.

Hi Leny. I don't think its possible with NPM/NTA..you need to use storage manager module to get the full information that you need. But for basic monitoring, you can enable SNMP polling in EMC-VNX.

Hi, In order to brush off your confusion, think for a moment that you are a router, your left hand is the WAN and your right hand is the LAN. Whenever you say Ingress, it means traffic is towards you, depending on the hand you are looking at. When you upload data to the internet its going out of your local network so the…

Does anyone knows how to make this work? We have hundreds of servers, both physical and VMs and from time to time, disk drives were being removed/changed/expanded/ etc. Is there a way in NPM to alert us whenever a disk drive is no longer valid since it was already removed or if there are new disk drives added to the server…

Judging from the error, you do not have rights to view where that node resides. Its clearly added in since the error has already referenced you a node ID, try to logout and try logging in using the default "admin" account without password and try searching for the IP again. You should be able to see, after that,…

Any comments from the resident nerds/geeks out there yet?

does anybody know where the template file or CSS for the top talker alert? It would be best if we can customized the webpage to be sent depending on our requirement. Maybe change the font to a bigger size and put some more message on the description?

Try issuing a telnet command from one of the affected servers using port 161/162 going to your Orion Server; More often than not, this is a Firewall Issue ( Network Device not Windows Firewall).
-
have you verified your SMTP settings? Are you using FQDN or IP of your SMTP server in the settings? Make sure that all details are correct. I will also assume you have your NCM and NPM installed in one box right? Otherwise, please check port settings, firewall or antivirus for starters.
