I second to that and I think the most important aspect is communication. These policies/controls are in place for a good reason, but in case some of these are becoming a hindrance to the business progress in some way then the IT and business simply needs to talk and agreed on something else where both parties can work on…

Logging for the sake of logging is meaningless...what is important is correlation on the gathered logs to see entirely what these information are trying to tell us. I definitely assent to all the points mentioned above.

Sweet!

I could't agree more, although part of the goals of IT for common end users is to provide simple applications that are easy to use, the reality is that the more simple and easy an application becomes the more complicated it will be in terms of maintenance, management and support. The task of monitoring and keeping our…

I guess it's Marvel vs. Start Wars in the finals. But let's remember the theme of this Bracket Battle when voting for the supreme captain. "A Captain that rules them all". Who can rule all of the beaten captains on the previous rounds and who is really worthy of getting that title? You can already see who I'm rooting for.

Thanks for sharing! I can't get over with the Bad Lip Reading thing!

The year that music died...nostalgic.. Thanks for sharing as always sqlrockstar, yes - if monitoring can be as interactive as this and each node having there background musci as they go down so you'll know exactly what went down without a single glance in your monitoring dashboard

Never mind I see it now, my internet connection just went sluggish for a while.

Yes, this is a common misconception that I usually hear a lot when IT people are talking about the cloud; "No, you don't have to worry about it, its in the cloud" or "yeah, its in the cloud! its being taken care of"; Mostly because of the idea that the physical server does not reside in you data center and its in some…

Thanks, DanielleH! Got it.

I concur, not everyone had their fair share of reliability when it comes to SaaS. I think this mostly depends on the vendor, I had a chance to work with one of our vendors from my previous company who supports our payroll system as we have acquired a SaaS contract with them and based on experience, they were quite…

I think that cloud technology is the result of evolution pulled out from visualization; If you think about it, Cloud is just a massive clusters of virtualized servers in very high end data centers being offered as a service. It has it's advantages but also has disadvantages; After all the cloud is for every company but not…

Are the prizes available for everyone to win during the raffle or will this be for US and Canada only? Thanks!

Silos. Ping Pong Tickets. Pointing at each other. If you have been in IT long enough, I'm pretty sure you have seen or experienced this one way or another. Totally agree with networkautobahn, these mentality hinder the IT organization to cope with the speed and requirement of the business, these are the hurdles that drag…

It should always start with people and it must..all the time. The main reason why we have these regulations are to promote security, we need security to protect people from other people (malicious). So it all boils down to us, and the processes and software we have created are just tools to help us achieve this goal. As…

Interesting topic; looking forward for the next part!

Educating the users is I believe the most important prevention mechanism for Ransomware attacks. Paying the ransom should be discouraged as mentioned on other commentaries as this will just give an opportunity to attackers for continuous digital extortion, once you give in, there's even no guarantee that these people will…

Well said.

mrs.alterego not sure if its just me but it seems once you have redeemed an item there's no turning back? I have tried redeeming the windbreaker, points were deducted and the item stays in my cart until I checkout but no way of removing or cancelling it. I understand that you must be careful when redeeming items and make…
