Precisely the steps taken here. Additionally, we do a lot of review surrounding port 80 and port 443 traffic egressing the network. We try to keep like requirement applications into groups for monitoring and management.

Anyone else read this and have a sense of déjà vu while reading this article. I can recall a time with Cummins Diesel was using satellites to obtain telemetry on motor performance in Semi-Tractors. But this appears to be "Twinning" at a whole magnitude greater. Being someone who has done some development with IOT devices…

So the only truly trusted connection is the one that is marked as Shut Down? This has been an interesting topic...

I like the course this is taking. I was not familiar with this line of products. I can see the benefits. May have to look at adding some additional modules.

After 34 years in the IT field and most of it spent in Field Service, the one resounding fact that the first visit to a new customer was to map everything out. Some clients were confused that I was not just fixing the issue with the servers or endpoints, but when I explained that I could just single in on the pain point or…

Unfortunately, in all the IT environments that I have worked in there has not been an "overall" toolset implemented. This article reminded me of a consulting project I worked on many many years ago. I was hired to be a function documentor for an industrial firm. My duties were to document every function in the machine-control library that was developed for a particular CNC machine. Then, I had the responsibility to develop the user help…

I have worked with lots of companies and the hardest task I have encountered is getting them to standardize. I remember one company that it was a status symbol to have a printer local at their desk. This ended up have 800 printers. With only 20% of them being the same model. Toner purchases was a nightmare. I used some…

How deep a groove did you smash into your forehead on the edge of the keyboard before you figured that one out?

Interesting thinking. Having a common support method would be great but I too agree that security would have to be paramount. I like the logic that you are following though. Thanks for the article.
