I know I have stated this before in other posts but just look at how Cisco Works has been presenting the data for the last 10 years. Or look at sourceforge.net/.../switchmap I like the "Find Connected Port for End Host" resource that can be added to my summary page. That's great! We have the SLX license and we just bought…

You nailed it. We have been waiting for years for this feature. We upgraded yesterday to v10 and went to the forums today to find out why it wasn't working. The only way I can describe our thoughts and feelings right now is: TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT John

Well for us, mapping is not as important as user tracking. People come up to us several times a week and ask if we are seeing errors on a switchport. All they have for us is the client IP Address. So yes we need a user tracker. As for your question regarding what information we would like to see from user tracker, I would…

Chris, 2,1,3 is our preference. In fact 3 is really not that important to us at this time. I really do hope that "the next release" does hold some meaning. Not to sound cynical but I have been seeing this in posts on this board and emails from you, Denny, and Haley on this since version 3. The only other thing I would…

Haley, thanks for the update on when we might expect an update for Cirrus. However, I can't say I'm happy with the time frame. Also, as for the mention of Lansurveyor and the thought of having to spend more money to fill the gap created by a poorly implemented feature, I am at a loss for words. We bought Cirrus for config…

Agreed with dstar and BenRichards, it is really annoying to point that when viewing Netflow data it covers the entire graph.

Any update on this yet Haley?

In other words, it didn't and doesn't work. The whole point of using the IP Address finder is so that an Administrator can track down a device throughout his/her network with just an IP Address. Your output doesn't list a single specific port. Our problem with this and the last several versions of the IP Address finder is…

Denny, thanks for the quick response and you have made my day. I'm happy it's in the works. jk

Are there any tools out there that you feel are very useful for identifying port connectivity? Yes Haley, we have Cisco Works and it does a great job. The problem is we are phasing it out. With Cisco Works we don't have to wade through rankings which don't are not presented in an order which is useful. I don't want to…

Does it actually work for you guys? If we put in an IP Address we get several results showing up and none of them are accurate. As far as I am concerned its still broken and has never been fixed. John Koebel

We are using a Cisco ASA running version 8.0.x code and would like to gather stats on each of the ~100 tunnels we have active. These tunnels terminate with vendors and other organizations so we would be unable to monitor the remote side other than up/down status. It would be nice to be able to have Orion provide detailed…

Any word on when Cirrus 6.0 will be out? jk

Any Status on this yet? John Koebel

So we are running Orion 9.0 sp2 and I am able to get the current active IKE tunnels from our ASA using the following: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.171.1.2.1.1 The problem I am having is that in node view it is trying to average the results. It's throwing the data into a chart. I would really like the ability to have the node view give…

Well I just tried it and I think its worse than before. Why is the user tracker so BAD in Cirrus? I guess if I was using Cirrus in a network with only one or two switches it would work pretty good. But when you have a network that spans several regions with hundreds of switches the User/IP Address finder doesn't work well…

Is there any update on this? It would seem rather simple to add another checkbox allowing just the collection of stats on an interface. This would be extremely helpful. John Koebel

Well I think if you search the thwack forums for IP Device/User Tracker you will find some posts from others and myself. What I would like is for Cirrus to be able to tell me what switchport a host/IP Address is connected. Thats it! I should be able to enter an IP Address or host address and then Cirrus tell me the switch…

We were having a similar issue where where the enable login was erroring out. We changed the "enable login" setting to none. That solved our issue. John Koebel

We are seeing the same thing with Cirrus V3. We have verified dates on switches and everything looks good. Ports that show dates in the future are almost always ports that haven't seen any activity in a long time. Usually 12 or more months. John Koebel
