A network has pain Where the root cause lies We are searching in vain Fortune has it that Where packets did go We find thanks to the flow

It is best if you have it, but you can maintain a deployment without it perfectly fine, given you follow the manual steps if such situation happens (one of the options doesn't require the permission).
-
Hi, NTA 4.6 no longer needs it for the DB maintenance - it was necessary only for an uncommon situation on a deployment under high load. If such situation happens on NTA 4.6 and the NTA DB user doesn't have the ALTER ANY CONNECTION permission an event is triggered and a warning message bar will be shown on the NTA web user…

The "Show" select box in Manage NetFlow Sources doesn't affect the NetFlow Sources resource. The resource shows all nodes which have at least 1 interface enabled for either NetFlow or CBQoS. Please double check the switches have all checkboxes for all interfaces unchecked in Manage NetFlow Sources.
-
What version of NTA and NPM are you running? There have been improvements to the resource in NTA 4.5.
-
If using PerfStack is not an option, the custom HTML page with iframes might be a (albeit hacky) solution. You don't need to get rid of the headers if you use detached resources - on an NTA view click the name of the resource to open it as detached (alone on a blank page). Using Flow Navigator you would go to the interface…

@"vladani19"I don't think you need specifically ICMP to be allowed, but the router needs to be monitored in some way by NPM, whether it is ICMP, SNMP or others.
-
This could be many things, depending how the custom report is defined and how did you do the search using the nodes IP address. Seems like it would be best to contact SolarWinds Support.

Are the switches disabled for both NetFlow and CBQoS?

Just to clarify, NTA 4.4+ does use Microsoft SQL Server as Flow Storage (not Fastbit). NetFlow Traffic Analyzer 4.5 Release Notes - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

Hi, did the IP address group exist for the whole time range you were querying (generating the reports/search for)? When you define an IP address group it will affect only the flow data received after its creation (NTA 4.4).
-
Hi, Have a look at the IP Address Groups functionality IP address groups in SolarWinds NTA You can use IP Groups in Flow Navigator to filter any NTA view, which could get you what you need.
-
On the NetFlow Sources resource you can click "Manage Sources" and disable the unwanted nodes (use the "Show:" select box option "All" to see them all).
-
I've attached an alert you can import which should do what you want. Please look over the Custom SWQL query trigger condition and add/remove protocols (IDs can be found in the Flow Navigator) and/or change from IngressBytes to EgressBytes or TotalBytes. Watch out for the new NTA 4.5 release (RC is available), which…

Hi, this is most likely an issue of the configuration of the monitored devices. See this link, section "Viewing network traffic data in both directions": Netflow data flow only appears in the Ingress or Egress interface - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support You are probably aware of this, but anyway keep this in…

Unfortunately I don't think there is a setting for that. NTA just switches to displaying 15 minute granularity area charts for time periods of 5 hours and above. What you could do is set the time period filter to Last 299 Minutes, which will get you 1 minute granularity (10 minute granularity is not on option I'm afraid).

Hi, yes, you can use different SQL Server versions. More details at NTA 4.4 System Requirements - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support
-
Hi, yes, now it's possible to just have one main poller machine and one SQL Server database (no other databases). It is possible scale out to having 2 SQL Servers, one for Orion DB, one for NTA Flow Storage DB, however for small-medium deployments it is usually not necessary. You can read more about the requirements for…

Hi, you can capture a PCAP of the exported flows (using Wireshark for example) and see which mandatory fields are missing to deduce which device configuration is missing/wrong based on this article: Success Center Cheers, Jiri
