  • Lack of Brocade support from where? To Solarwinds themselves? I could somewhat see that being true because they have their own NMS product, but so does Cisco. We run an all Brocade network here and the obvious lack of product integration (or favor to Cisco) is pretty irritating. Having to use universal device pollers for…
  • I was surprised today when I got into the credentials for IPAM that the credentials sets are not shared through multiple products for anything. We're running NPM, NCM, SAM, IPAM and UDT now and it seems that their back end services are not integrated into the main web platform across the board. It is definitely frustrating.
  • Resurrection time! I would like to bring this back from the dead and hope something can be done to detect additional pollers and manage services from the primary server (or any server really). I do not think it would be overly difficult to design a MMC snap-in to perform these functions. You could easily add additional…
  • This is probably a bigger request that needs more visibility. I know this is a major disaster when crossing between NPM and NCM functions now that NCM is far more "integrated" into NPM. NPM groups are useless outside of permissions. I would like to see NPM groups overtake NCM and be selectable in compliance reporting and…
  • I am definitely supporting this need. I would like to be able to specify by subnet or supernet the polling engine that is responsible for polling. Since IPAM doesn't integrate the SNMP scans with NPM (or doesn't appear to), those SNMP calls are all happening from the primary server. So now I have two servers polling a…
  • Also stop text from realigning itself every time map "dimensions" change. Nothing I like more than doing that over and over every time we have to add a node to a map.
  • This is definitely a need. An alternative (in part) would be reverse compliance policy in a manner. If I tell NCM that the following strings and/or RegEx should be present in that config block, it would be useful to provide a check box that says "If there is anything else present in this config block, flag it." This would…
  • This is definitely something that is needed very much. It is pretty much impossible to perform a "clean install" scenario if the application itself gets corrupted in some way or if you want to remove a module that may contain multiple installs like NCM. A "Solarwinds Product Uninstaller" would go a long way to assist with…
  • Yup. That one imports correctly now. I haven't come across any others like that so far, but I'll let you know if I do.
  • I see that the content exchange was ported. There appears to be some kind of issue with the mapping though. For instance, when I import the "Isilon OneFS" poller it downloads the Viptela poller instead. EDIT: It doesn't appear to all of them. I imported "ISE Details" just fine. /shrug
  • I think this is an example one: thwack.solarwinds.com/.../juniper-ex-switches
  • I'll have to try to find them again. Right now the Content Exchange for Device Pollers only has 31 files in it.
  • Additionally, I'm not sure how these numbers correlate against an APE server vs APE licensing. The idea is that multiple APE licenses can allow a more robust server to do more (which we clearly are) but I do not know what those limits are. Theoretically, it would be double, but more realistically its probably maybe 50%…
  • Clearly I need to clean up UDT some. But if anyone here has used UDT, it is one of least user friendly interfaces of all the modules I've used so far as far as bulk management. In reality the Interfaces and UDT_Ports numbers should be relatively close and as you can see they are almost doubled. There are some possible, and…
  • So I figured out the solution which I haven't had to do yet. What I was missing was that I have to go check that box at the bottom of the Poller Package wizard to manually enter the OID since individual table values are not in the DB. I completely understand what you were saying about the specific row OID. I misunderstood…
  • So I managed to figure it out. Had to remove queries for modules I'm not using.…
  • Wow that's one heck of a query. I haven't messed with queries all that much so do I just copy the entire thing verbatim into the database tool? Not sure if I need to break it up or not.
  • Is that a confirmed "no, I've tried it" or just an assumption based on documentation?
  • So I work with the OP of this thread. The 2 license server means that we have 2 APE licenses on a single VM. You can install up to 3 licenses per a single Windows server to increase polling capacity (the 80% usage mark). So right now our server is at 60% polling usage which is under two licenses. So if it was a single…
  • The Device Studio will not accept a row OID. It must be an OID found in the MIB database. I am not doing this in UnDP. I have no idea how to add an argument to the calculation in order to tell it what RowID to choose.
  • Thanks. We will look into some of these things. It is probably worth noting (should've written in the first post) that we are running NPM, NCM, SAM, IPAM, UDT and NTA on our Solarwinds instance. All the latest versions. So technically NTA is a separate DB server now, but from what I can tell it still ties back into the…
  • I have not on the existing installation. We are standing up a new installation and I have not tried it on that yet. The new install is running 11.5.2. In the meantime I've used the reload after <time> command to reboot them.
  • This is using Device Studio. So instead of having to use UnDPs, this uses the actual Node Details. Mostly just allows for version information, but I have it pull Model number for MachineType. Just makes it all cleaner.
  • We had CAC logon working a while back and then an update to SQL seemed to have broken it (that's the only change that happened when it stopped working). So we had it fully working with AD groups and the sort. We just haven't had time to look into fixing the CAC logon since. SSO does work though. Also it will depend on the…
  • Is there an update as to when UDT will be updated for the 2017.x Orion Platform?
  • Thank heavens for this. I'm been messing with this in RegEx (something I am not familiar with) for a while. This works great! Now if we can just figure out how to get the image file. Or maybe if Juniper would just map some OIDs to the data.
  • A higher level of Brocade integrated support would be nice period. Hardware Health monitoring integration, Stack monitoring, Vulnerability capabilities...heck just knowing that a Brocade device is a network device would be nice. Right now the new "Node Category" doesn't even know Brocade switches and routers are "Network"…
  • It happens when you change the overall "dimensions" of the map. It is extremely irritating. If you add anything outside of the current boundaries of the overall "dimensions" Atlas will automatically move all the label text to center it with the new "dimensions" which means you have to move everything back. Completely…
  • I know this is old, but if you still need these, I am currently working in Device Studio & with Universal Pollers to solve some of this.
  • After a few months of back and forth with support we've discovered that this is indeed a bug in the software that will have to be fixed. The SNMP data is being polled correctly, but not getting passed correctly to all the functions.
