I agree with the tiny windowed section.

our net flow storage server has a raid 10 for the flow storage data. and that seems to cope, it just depends on how many of your nodes will be generating flow data.

don't forget to add some padding, if you can afford to go to a tier above do it, that way as you expand your environment you have room to grow, instead of buying more license after your initial deployment, other wise you will be juggling your licensing

also try to make the alerts you have meaningful, I have these templates here that are colour coded html for email alerts Alert Templates.zip

you need to enable the CIM service under security profile, also make sure you use the ibm/dell/hp iso as it contains extra software components related to that particular hardware platform

some interesting ideas, but I would take a learning from Symantec, and their backup-exec software, and if possible have a way to change back to the old interface /menu, because the new Symantec interface sucks.

Hi Rob, the only thing missing from my perspective, is the ability to create HTML styled alerts using a WUSIWUG interface, without having to copy and paste html code into the section. people tend to respond to colour more than black an white. for example, all our alerts, use html, so that when they are sent do the…

also check with ur wan/network guys, if npm can not ping a node then it will mark it as down, if it is happening for the same nodes at the same time then I suggest that there is some kind of operation being performed by your wan provide that you may not know about. that could also trigger false alerts. if the node is local…

be carefully how you do this, you can end up with some poller issues that are easy to fix, if you don't read that guide properly. also I would recommended not using blade servers for your monitoring environment, keep this in mind, if you have an issue with your blade chassis or blade hardware. ie your blade chassis looses…

try this, delete the vcenter node from npm, deleted the esxi hosts, wait about 30 minutes re add the v center node, wait about 30 minutes then re add the esx hosts. I had the same issue, I went back and forth with tech support because I didn't want to loose any data from my deployment, but in the end I just decided that it…
