This is likely due to a failure in determining a switch to router correlation. If you edit the node properties you should see a resouce at the bottom that shows routers where the stack is trying to get its layer 3 information from.

Adding cobrien the PM for NetPath to see if he has any suggestions. CC - lanli.fsm

This post might give you a few ideas; You might also want to check the "Alert Lab" forum. thwack.com/.../

No worries. SQL Standard 2005.
-
Xeon 2.00GHz 4.00GB of RAM for the pollers, DB is pretty much the same but 8.00GB of RAM because of Netflow. Nothing is really even close to being maxed out CPU/MEM wise.
-
The DB migration can take some time depending on your DB size and hardware.

Can you use Wireshark to verify they're getting to the Orion NPM server?
-
I've haven't really seen my IP groups work. I have created several group and only about 2 or 3 show up.
-
This can also be changed from the web console. Setting-->Views by Device Type--Unknown
-
After you create the group within the NPM web console you can then leverage the 'group' while writing your reports. Questtionario provided some more insight into the groups above.
-
I just looked at your case and was unable to find a description of the issue. What problem are you experiencing with the Top XX resource?
-
aLTeReGo - Any options on this?
-
Can you show me the settings you have selected for this OID in the UnDP? Please expand the Advanced Options before you grab the screen cap. Thanks, Jeff
-
Debbie, How do you have your RAID setup on the SQL server? How much memory do you have? If more than for do you have the right setting in your boot.ini and in SQL? Jeff
-
Jim, Are you talking about creating the dependencies within the web console?
-
Using the APM Module for Orion. If you have that it is pretty simple, just add the counter to APM for your Orion server. Let me know if you want further/more detailed instructions.
-
Has the 'Alert Guru' defined or created any alerts for this? Just trying to save time, if not I'll go ahead and write one.
-
You are correct, the latest HF (hotfix 3) in your customer portal should address the WorldWide Map resource issue. I'll let aLTeReGo make the official announcement as he is responsible for that resource. Please let us know if you see any additional issues with the resource. Cheers, Jeff

Thanks Chad, I will add this as a feature request for NCM.
-
Thank you for the additional feedback. Question as I'm the PM for our Netflow product too. Do you use SolarWinds NTA or another flow solution? How often do you configure devices to send netflow data?
-
If you use the above method every interface will send flow which is what I think you will want to avoid.
-
You'll need to install HP Systems Insight Manager to be able to poll hardware information. Check here; http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/hpsim/download.html Jeff
-
Can you get a screenshot of the Polling Engines page under the Settings-->All Settings?
-
Do you have netflow on for those interfaces?
-
Mine seems to be working. What are you using to look at this? I just ran the report in NCM and it pulled the cards.
-
thwack doesn't like .bmp files. It probably says that some where. Below you can see my screen shot, the legend has 6 items and a "more..." which doesn't seem to be a link to show the rest.
-
I'm pretty sure it is set to 1 by default. From what I understand it would only become a problem if you increase the number of worker processes that the application pool can use.
-
No service restart needed, just hit refresh on the node details page and you should see everything that was missing.
-
Bryan, Can you try testing the alert outside of the Alert Manager? For example, setup a quick monitor to monitor a non-critical service on the Orion server and then stop the service. Try to keep an eye on the Task Manager to see if you see the process start up. The alert should pass the APMServiceControl the component ID…
