threadsPerProcessor=50 now, I'll let you know if the services crashes again. Thanks.

Denny, anything on the long load times of the System Manager?
-
this going to happen?

Solarwinds puts out more updates, fixes & releases than most other companies I work with. I must also say their support on Thwack is an added bonus. Keep up the good work.

Is the APM folder still on the server?
-
OK, that is the tool I have. I guess I'm just having trouble understanding how to use it. When I click "Add Orion Maps" where should the current maps be located? I see old ones, but nothing I've created over the last few days.

My smallest server has 5900 and the largest has a little over 10,000. The one with 5900 loads faster, which I would expect. However, I shouldn't have to wait 15-20 minutes for the others.

We have 5 people on our network team using Orion.
-
Any word on this? I have a case open already but Im really trying to get this fixed ASAP. My Netflow services seems to be crashing every two hours or so.

Less than 250ms of latency and enough bandwidth to send the SQL traffic back to the DB.

Is this tool in the portal yet?

Here is the link for NEO; http://www.ktools.org/neo/ It's old school and hasn't been updated in a long time. One great feature is the ability to define your nodes into groups. We group ours by building. So for example if we had an IP we need to track down we could use NEO to look at the arp tables and get us a MAC address…

Does APM follow this same license structure? We have Orion SLX and want to buy a small license of APM. That possible? We are also looking at Netflow, but having to buy an SLX version of that when we only want to monitor a few interfaces will probably prevent us from buying it. :( Unless someone at SW wants to work…

The MAC is not being found on the trunk port. I've also tried it with the check box selected and not selected for the "Do not display Cisco trunk ports" SPM only shows MACs for our 'management' VLAN on this switch. The switch has two VLANs and the MAC is on the 'user'. It almost sounds like the VLAN needs to be added to…

Then you should remove APM and that should take care of the APM issue. HTH.

Yes.

We had problems with Write performance for a long time, but that is now under control. The Read performance seems pretty odd to me. I'll post what we find.

Looks like I'm having permission trouble, anyone know what needs access for this. 2008-11-06 12:30:21,146 [8] WARN SolarWinds.Orion.Web.DAL.ResourcePropertiesDAL - No resources found for ViewID=9 2008-11-06 12:30:21,146 [8] WARN SolarWinds.Orion.Web.DAL.ResourcePropertiesDAL - No resources found for ViewID=9 2008-11-06…

You will need to restore from a backup to get Orion 8.5.1 working. We now have Orion 8.5.1sp3 and Netflow 3.0 SP2 working fine. When Neflow 3.0 came out, we could not use it until the SP2 was released because netflow would fill up the transaction log and crash the database. After installing Orion 9.0 with Netflow 3.0SP2,…

We have upgraded to SP2 and are still seeing great slowness. After removing the "All Nodes" the page is 90% faster to load.
-
The other option is to try updating the alert date set in the trigger condition. I would set the date to something in the future (a day out) and then see if things clear up after that. I believe we are looking from the date set until today (or the current date) for any failures within the audit log.

Have you seen this blog post; I think it fits the needs of what you're looking for.

JasonKV, With the release of NPM 10.4 the Additional Polling Engine is now supported across WAN links and contains a store and forward feature to help protect data in the event of a connection outage to the database. This would allow you to have one central NPM and multiple APEs all managed from the main NPM. Hope this…

I'm seeing some strange things with this also. I just tried it with using snmpV2 and it says success but the MAC was not found. When I do a show mac it is clearly in the list. Any thoughts? Greg, Have you every used NEO for mac finding? Some of the ways it does things would be nice to see in this tool. Thanks, Jeff

I would run the APM install package again to take care of the APM issue.
-
Debbi, I had to go back to SP3 to fix this problem for me. That is what I would do until the next SP or release comes out. Jeff
-
Hang in there, if I had to guess SP1 will probably be out by the end of the week. Again that's just a guess.
-
Send me an email at jeff.stewart@solarwinds.com and I will make sure we help resolve your issues. Jeff

Thanks, we are upgrading versions now. I hope that is a smooth process, otherwise I will be kicking myself for using Express while I had a copy of Standard!

I've opened a case to have support verify this.
