Should give you an idea of our v5, we do v9 also.

I'm going to go ahead and say how awesome and easy it is to add windows/ad users....thanks.

Does your machine have an address? If not assign it one and use that.
-
Have you configured SNMP on the controller yet? This will be the first step before adding the controller to NPM.
-
Not possible today within the product, but we will log this as a feature request. Just curious, but what kind of debug would you like to run against the devices? Are you wanting to give the users the ability to issue some show commmands, like 'show tech' for example?
-
You could look at your exporters for the last 15 minutes to see which interfaces are sending netflow data.
-
You should see the node specific firmware vulnerabilities listed on the node details page (Config tab).
-
OID is not supported means that the device is not responding to that OID. Are you trying a get, get next or get table? If you have the OID and you're polling the MIB is not needed. MIBs are only needed for SNMP traps. Jeff

SolarWinds doesn't directly offer or support LEM HA. If you're running LEM on VMWare you can look at vMotion or SRM as an option. Jeff

I'm not sure that function works. We've never been able to do that.

gabesteve, NCM & NPM each have their own database. In most cases I've seen, people are actually wanting to populate their NCM nodes list from Orion. This is possible and very easy to do during or after the configuration of NCM. For NCM web integration into Orion NPM there is a .exe that you must run on the NPM server. This…

Malalo, This could be because the app pool is timing out. You can increase the time out default value to help with this. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc771956(WS.10).aspx Jeff

I know they are included with the download bits, do you still have your 11.5.3 .zip?
-
Transfer time also seems to be slower...

I wouldn't put SQL on a virtual machine, don't think it is recommended by SW either.
-
The install wizard should walk you right through it just like NPM did. There is really nothing to it. Is there something specific you're stuck on?
-
We would also like to see this.
-
It's asking for the SNMP community string.
-
Are your addresses formatted like this? Here is a list of example PollerID/SenderIDs which can be used while configuring the recipient. * AT&T – cellnumber@txt.att.net * Verizon – cellnumber@vtext.com * T-Mobile – cellnumber@tmomail.net * Sprint PCS - cellnumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com * Virgin Mobile –…

I would check the log files to see how large they are and maybe run some DB maintenance to shrink/compact the DB.

Why script when you can use our free tool to do this? :) SNMP Enabler for Windows - Save time by remotely installing, enabling, and configuring SNMP on multiple Windows servers and workstations. http://www.solarwinds.com/register/registration.aspx?program=1382&c=70150000000P2cK&INTCMP=DLIndexA_FreeTools_FreeSNMPEnabler Jeff

Have you added any Layer 3 devices? If so can you edit the node and make sure we are scanning it for Layer 3 information?
-
You will need to add the VLAN context to the view group on the device for each VLAN. eg. Snmp-server group <groupName> v3 <auth|noauth> context vlan-<VLAN-ID> Where the SNMP user belongs to <groupName> So to add VLAN 16 & 17 do the following: Snmp-server group MyGroup v3 auth context vlan-16 Snmp-server group MyGroup v3…

Thanks all, we are looking into this issue now. We will update the thread as soon as we have some additional information. Jeff

ODC, We at Western Kentucky University use NCM and have for a few years now. I would highly recommend you look at it. I'm sorry we don't have any HP devices; we do have a very large mixed environment. Jeff

If your rules are not included in the regular configuration file you're pulling you can create a new config type and specify the commands to download the ruleset. Once you're getting these config files you can do a diff on it to see what has changed.
-
As mentioned above this would require an SLX license plus Additional Polling Engines depending on how many interfaces you want to monitor and at what polling intervals. I'd be happy to have a more detail conversation or put together some documentation for this kind of setup if you're interested. I can be reached at…

Yes, this is possible if you've installed the HotFix that is included with the download. If you edit the node, at the bottom of the page there should be a check box that allows you to specify that the device is a router.

Is it too late to refer rach356 as a #noob?
-
I can, but I know Safari isn't a supported browser for Orion.
