I could see the separate alerts working, however if you tell them to email you when they fall back below that level then you might get 3 recovery emails if the volume reached the 3rd alert.

My team would be happy to assist you with your evaluation. Please DM your contact information and I'll get something scheduled. Jeff

Not sure that is how the rules work in the Policy Reporter. Thanks

The node must be added to NPM as an SNMP v3 node for NPM to receive SNMP v3 traps. In addition the polling IP and the IP sending the traps must match (along with the credentials). This is only required for SNMP v3 traps, v1 & v2c work without the node being added to NPM.

sja, While Kiwi remains to be one of my favorite products, I'm no longer the PM. jhynds is currently the PM for the kiwi products. Did you have any specific questions or just looking for an update?
-
I will check with the team to see what numbers we have to share. I assume you're looking for the number of logs able to be processed per minute?
-
sja & byrona - This is a well understood enhancement for both Orion & Kiwi that aLTeReGo and I hope to solve in a future release. Please keep the feedback coming of improvements you'd like to see in both Orion & Kiwi as it relates to Syslog & Traps. Jeff

You can also now use the web-based SSH feature we ship with in the newer versions.
-
You are correct, I used the approximate numbers at default polling intervals. The polling intervals aren't changed until your polling rate is over 100%.
-
1. Correct, all you need to do is apply an additional polling engine key for the latest versions. 2. There are several areas in the product that notify/alert on capacity. 3. Adding a Stacked Polling Engine is no different than adding an Additional Polling Engine from a capacity standpoint.
-
byrona - Happy to answer additional questions regarding the SLX license and we value all the feedback provided in this thread. The SLX license is not restricted in the number of elements that can be added to the system, users can continue to add elements well past ~12,000. In fact, I've seen several customers over my…
-
You are correct, only SAM & NPM are capable of taking advantage of the Stackable Polling Engine.
-
1. This depends on the version of Core you’re running. With the newer versions you’ll just need to apply a key, some of the other versions required you to install the APE again and then apply a key. 2. A single SLX license will poll ~12,000 elements at default polling, once you grow past ~12,000 the system will slightly…

cobrien is the current PM for NCM. He should be able to comment on this particular request.

Testing in a lab is always the best practice, regardless if you're doing the upgrades yourself or using software for automation.
-
We made changes to this process in 7.6, but after reviewing your other threads I'm not sure it's 100% what you are looking for. Let me speak to tyler.peterson and see what we can come up. Jeff
-
We backup and remove the current firmware as part of the upgrade procedure. Is that different than what you're asking?
-
We added support for firmware upgrades on Cisco IOS devices in NCM 7.6, but nothing specific for the ASA. The firmware upgrades wizard was built in a manner that you can build templates for devices outside of what we've shipped with, but the logic might not always work for different models or vendors. Our intentions are to…

sja, Are you willing to have a call to discuss this further. I would like to understand what specifically we'd need to implement to solve this problem for you. Please DM me if you want to chat. Jeff

Jenya We are unable to comment on the exact functionality, but what you have stated is very close to what we are thinking for this.
-
The PM thinks that SNMP and CLI access to devices is no longer enough to support modern devices. NETCONF is something my team is actively looking into and we hope that with the continuation of Network Insight for modern devices we will expand how we communicate with said devices. That's what the PM thinks

owilson, I know of w few customer using UDT where NAC is deployed with no issues. How are you planning your deployment, in-band or out-of-band? Sounds like you're going with out-of-band. "Also, is UDT able to use switch port mac notification or link up/down traps?" Not currently, but this is something the PM team is…

Curious as to how often you would use a tool like this. Is this just for testing or do you plan on leaving in place for an extended period of time? Do you see this as being a value add feature for NTA?
-
Got it, thanks for the additional information.
-
Hock - What problem are you trying to solve with that feature request? Is it just cool, or would that help you troubleshoot something in your network?
-
Make sure you use 2016 SP1, as it supports the columnstore feature set in all versions (not just Enterprise), including Express
