Have you seen the whitepaper on Orion performance? www.solarwinds.com/.../OrionPerformance.pdf Most of the time, the bottleneck is at the DB. Jeff

In the username or anywhere in the client? Have you tried a different browser? What browser are you using today?

Now I just wish there was an easier way (like the basic alerts) to create that alert for my distribution switches. Thanks for the help Yann!

We've seen some strange things with Orion asking for our username and pw over and over again. It comes and goes so I haven't investigated much yet.
-
Haley, Opened case 22516. Thanks, Jeff
-
That would be great if you put them in EOC.

The only problem with running more than 2 is if you use multiple computers to view Orion. For example, 3 is awesome for my large desktop displays, but then not so much if I go over to my laptop and use Orion. Therefore we decided to standardize on two and make the width fit to our laptop screens. We all have the same…

ecklerwr1 We are actively working on the case your partner has open. My understanding is that you are running a hardened version of 2012 R2, is that correct?
-
I spoke with Engineering is this would be considered a feature request. I have opened an internal feature request for you. Jeff
-
Stacey, You should post what you are looking for. It may be an idea that has already been brought up.

SP2 is running well for me. I was very happy to see the NPM service stop on its own!
-
Ecornwell, I just added this counter to watch out DBs in APM. Let me know if you have any questions about it.

This doesn't appear to be an issue with the number of devices, but something else. Are you able to complete the inventory in NCM on all your Cisco nodes without any errors?
-
parikhdinesh What kind of devices are these?
-
Murat, You can limit the number of devices that are sent up with each report, which is what I would recommend based on the number of devices you have. Jeff

Can you please make sure you're registered with STNC for the account you're using? The instructions for completing this can be found here; https://supportforums.cisco.com/blog/12600946/self-service-onboarding-register-get-access-smart-net-total-care-portal Jeff

Don, Can you DM me the account information you're using and the logs from the tool?
-
Also dependent on the connections (bandwidth/latency) from the APEs to the SQL server.

Please let me know if you need any assistance with the RC.

I'm doing this search in the NCM web interface. What version of NCM are you using?
-
You are correct that NPM is the only product that support stackable polling engines today. You can still stack APEs even if you have other modules, however those modules won't be able to take advantage of the increased element counts. For example you could have a single server with NPM and SAM and add a stacked APE to get…

Thanks.

dcleompte, I would like to specify particular interfaces to ignore for blinking and notifying up/down status. I would also like to keep the stats/traffic of these ports. I don't care about the up/down status of user ports, but I do care about the up/down status of uplink ports. Jeff

Brandon, We are on SP2, but I'm not sure when the problem started. Jeppie pointed it out to me this week. I can't browse to the path manually either, I get the same error. Thanks.
-
I would also check out the following technical reference we have created for integrating Orion with ticketing systems; http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/Orion/docs/OrionTTIntegration.pdf Jeff

It always takes a long time for our service to start or stop fully.
-
Off subject, kind of, but I find Cisco support to be atrocious! I'd rather spend weeks troubleshooting (probably a bug) than to call them.
-
I think we started with v8.something and just from that to v9 we have seen many improvements. We always keep a feature request list and it seems like we keep scratching them off with each upgrade. One major thing would be the UnDP
