I don't see a security risk with gathering netflow data. I agree with the post by Dobbs.

We currently don’t have a public demo of LM, but are happy to provide a live demo of the product or you can download an evaluation from SolarWinds.com/logmanager. Jeff

Can you please log in to your customer portal and download the latest RC of Kiwi CatTools. There should be a fix for the FortiGate problem you're experiencing. If you continue to have issues please contact me directly and we will continue to investigate.

Brandon, Let me know if you'd like me to open a case for this problem.

Anyone know how to get the output of the alert to disply just the drive letter instead of the entire full name. I would rather see Alert: blah blah for drive C: instead of Alert: blah blah for drive C:/ drivecaption.

Christine, We just need a way to download the config files from APC devices. Right now the only way I see posible is via ftp from the apc device. We would be happy to work with SW and/or APC to work towards a solution of APC config managment. I'm working on a custom template, but one major snag I've hit is there is no…

I agree with byrona. I would also recommend having a separate RAID array for the DB OS & DB Log files for larger environments. The Orion NPM Admin guide has recommended specifications. www.solarwinds.com/.../orionDoc.aspx Jeff

Thanks Denny, got the HW setup how you all recoommend. On to the SQL now.

We have a hotfix for this issue that you can get if you contact our Support team. We are working on a Service Release to rollup a few items, I hope to have that out to everyone shortly.

Do you have a ticket number? If so I can look into this for you.

#4 - I guess what I'm asking for is the ability to define ignored nodes even before the discovery starts. Like all of my access points based off IP address/machine type/etc. I could see this in the disscovery setup process. 5#Just thinking about performance. Currently we have 60 different discoveries, for performance…

I know this has been a hot topic in the past, I want to be alerted if my my servers are reporting this...

I think I'm following what you all are saying here but want to be sure. We have a 6509 that has been up for over two years and a show command proves that. But Orion reports it has only been up for 50 days. This is because the snmp counters have rolled?

Could you use a custom field to subscribe your cities to the RIG they belong to? Then write an alert that notifies notifies city subscriptions based upon the RIG they belong to? I'm still trying to grasp your overall process here...

I've been putting off doing this just because of the amount of interfaces I need to change. I'm thinking it might be easier for me to set all interfaces to unplugged and then change our critical links back to normal. I'd think a button that sets all of the ports for selected switches to unplugged would be handy.

Thanks W Brown. Are you using NCM to backup your multi-context devices today?
-
Scott, Are you trying to backup the UCS or just the text based configuration files? Using NCM 7.5 gives the option to do both, but you have to setup a few things before it will work. This KB should help. Jeff

Don't seem to be able to. Sorry, there was a problem with your last request! Either the site is offline or an unhandled error occurred. We apologize and have logged the error. Please try your request again or if you know who your site administrator is let them know too.

Yes, that feature is in APM 4.

The recommended max number of additional polling engines is 20 per Orion instance. The caveat is that we still don't recommend going over ~100,000 elements for NPM or ~150,000 component monitors for SAM. While we don't recommend going over 100,000 we do have several large enterprise customers that have successfully scaled…

v6.0 for NCM and 10.0 SP1 for NPM. I have a case open, ticket #184156.

Can you open a ticket with support and provide an SNMP walk of the device?
-
I like the list, what are the thoughts about making NCM a module of NPM? Option to buy in either a module or stand alone application?
-
Try removing the VoIP folder, that should fix it.
-
David, I had a pervious ticket open for this and the solution was to reinstall the service. Which fixed the problem for a little bit. Can we just use that case? #99285. I'll upload some diagnositcs right now. Thanks.

Current versions of NTA don't support the WLC for NetFlow collection. However, if you are an customer under active maintenance NTA 4.2 RC is available. This version adds support for Cisco WLC NetFlow collection. We would like to get your feedback if you have a chance to test it out.

Please PM me if you're interested in setting up a meeting. I'll need some dates and times that work for you.
-
I would be happy to help have one of these created. We don't have any of those devices in the lab, but we can get one created if anyone is willing to jump on a GoToMeeting.

I think the documentation for the SLX recommends no more than 8,000 elements. We are running well over 10,000 on each of our servers.
