Yup, we think that would work.

We don't monitor as many nodes as you, but we monitor 40,000 elements over 800 nodes. I'd be happy to share our experiences with SW in our environment if you like.

ecklerwr1 - NTA does support the collection of NBAR & Flexible Netflow. Is there something missing from the collection of those flow technologies you'd like us to add? Specific fields maybe?
-
How often should the DB be compacted? Our Netflow DB is going to be rather large so I'm sure it wil take a while to compact. I'm trying to get my compact and backup schedule going to any pointers would be great. Thanks.

Thank you, that worked perfectly!
-
I see it all the time and send them hoping that someone out there gets them and is working on a fix :)

I think this has been talked about before, check this thread.

Nick, This is by design on the Group Details page and would also occur on the Node Details page. What I recommend you do is create a new summary page and limit or filter the page by the specific group or nodes you're trying to see. Once you have that page setup how you want it you can then clone/copy the page and setup the…

I'm going to attempt to write some code into Orion to show the MAC address of connected devices to our switches along with their IP addresses. I believe the 'Switch Port Mapper' in the Toolset does something to this effect. I also plan on writing a custom page that'll show the status of my backup jobs (Symantec Backup…

Great suggestions!

The RC email was sent out to customers under active maintenance this morning. We don't include release notes with release candidates, but there are some details within the email. Please DM me if you have additional questions. Thanks, Jeff

This is from the APM Admin Guide. Monitoring External Nodes To monitor services and applications on a server you do not directly manage, add the server to the Orion database as an external node. External nodes skip all network performance data collection and polling tasks, but allow you to assign applications to them.. For…

Would you say that FNF support is on the road map?
-
Additional note, I would take caution in changing the system name of the DB machine. If you do that you might have to run the config wizard again.
-
Can you provide a screen shot of what you're seeing and wanting to remove?
-
Halfy, I would recommend you open a case on this one. Jeff

Even using the windows auth?
-
I'm not sure I know where you're talking about???
-
I was just asked to get this information for my director. I had hoped to find it here!
-
This would be great for cisco 4500/6500 switches. If I card is added/removed you are alerted.

I'm seeing a similar problem. I added an ICMP Only device to Orion and everything was working fine for a few days. The device has gone up and down several times and we are looking into that. This last time it went down and we had to reboot the device, after coming back up Orion said it was still down. We can ping the…

Actually we have access to the outside world and most alerts are sent out via email. We want something to monitor our internet connection and be able to alert us if it is down.
-
Joe, Check here and see if this gets you what you're looking for. Go to the Scheduled Discovery Results and on the left side you will see a drop down titled "Status". Select "All except Ignored" and see if that helps. Jeff

Thanks for the update Ray. We hope to have the fix out shortly. I will update the thread as soon as the fix is available for public consumption. Jeff
-
Yes, please open a ticket so we can track your case and make sure to notify you when a fix is officially released.
-
We have a temporary fix for this while we continue to solve the larger issue. Your Support contact should be able to provide you with additional details, if not please let me know and I can work directly with folks to get them the fix. Jeff

Network Elements 35000 Elements Nodes 715 Nodes Interfaces 36000 Interfaces Volumes 29 Volumes These are estimates and are always growing. We monitor everything on each node - all interfaces, CPU and memory. We monitor error and traffic stats on all of them also. We have APM 100 but currently don't use it to its fullest…

I've looked around at some other post and even messed with the CRC UnDP but I haven't really found the solution I'm looking for. I would like something similar to "Top 10 Errors & Discards Today". Even if there was just a column added to that view with CRC errors that would be awesome. Has anyone come up with a good…

You are correct, this is a setting in NCM. You have several options when downloading and saving configuration files, one of them being to only save configuration files that have changed. Can you check the settings of your configuration download job and see what you have it set to? Jeff

chad.mowery Would you be able to open a case with Support so we can help investigate? Once you open the case please post the case number here so I can track it. Jeff
