Hi Lofstrand, and thanks. I set the security role to Administrator but that did not resolve the issue. Any other ideas? Joe
-
Never mind. I found it. You can switch to 'legacy mode' in the upper left corner.
-
Hi Lofstrand. That was my response as well, but SNOW claims that making any changes to their stock queries make them unsupported going forward.
-
Thanks (again) Lofstrand. I'll take a shot and see where I get.

Anyone?

Hi Lofstrand. Getting back to this. While I was successful in building the new poller and getting data from the devices, I have been completely unsuccessful in adding the poller data to a dashboard. I opened a ticket with support, but they are saying this is "out of support". I would greatly appreciate your insight. This…

Lofstrand, progress has been made. I've created the new Universal Device Poller, and it successfully grabs the data from the OID. But now I can't find a way to add it to a dashboard or view. When I try to preview the new poller in UDP app, it get a "Error loading web page" and "the system cannot find the file specified"…

By George I think you've nailed it. Thank you very much for the detailed response. I'll go down this road and see how far I get. Thanks, Joe

Thanks for the response. The existing alert is set to "is equal to" "Down", and must exist for more than 5 minutes. The agents themselves would know that the servers are not actually 'down', so why does the server generate the alerts when it is rebooted?
-
Most of our NAS boxes have 4-8 drives, so not sure if what you're suggesting is a good approach or not. And I'm not familiar with 'UnDP'. Can you give me a bit of direction there, or point me to some examples? Thanks, Joe

Planglois, thanks for the response. I got something similar from Synology, and I've found the correct OID. However, that OID returns multiple values, so now I have to do a transform into a single value. Any thoughts on that. I think I want something that says "if all value are not 1, then force an alert".

Thank you!

Oh, that's rotten. Is there a good way to link to the world map in a dashboard, or with a menu item?
-
Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place? I'm trying to add the widget to an existing dashboard:
-
Follow up question. Where do I find the world map widget? When I create a map widget, all I get are the custom maps I've built. I'm not seeing a world map option.
-
Great answer! Thanks Lofstrand!

Thanks Chad. As a non-programmer I'm having a hard time understanding why the same table in one dashboard is filtered to the specific site, while the exact same code in a new dashboard does not filter. It must have something to do with the filter statement in the URL, but my programming skills are not up to taking that and…

Anyone?

Thanks LeBeauUK. I have something similar already working. And when I went to do a screenshot I found something I did in the past that might work! So I may be all set.
-
Thanks!

Thanks Lofstrand. I think my original request had been to give access to the actual All Nodes screen, which I was told couldn't be done. So I'll be playing more with dashboards.
-
Thanks for the quick response. I've made general changes to the default thresholds but that's not always the solution when we have servers that frequently hit 100% CPU for long periods, etc. So I'm trying the Status Rollup route. This might come back to haunt me...
-
Thanks mesverrum. That's what I needed to know.
-
Once the resources are selected in List Resources, a widget should be able to pull the status of those resources. I'm particularly interested in drive space, which should be something readily available.
-
Since it is not checking in with the server, the server logs won't help. I can't find anything in the agent logs that help me. I don't know how to increase the agent logging level. No changes to the firewall that I'm aware of.
-
Thank you!
-
Thanks Chad. There is no way to just enumerate all VM's on a host and then select which should be monitored?
-
Thanks bourlis. Yes, it is the same custom property. I've gone through the troubleshooting steps but haven't found a fix yet. I will continue to work on it. JOe
