Thanks for the reply.. I have the Engineers tool set and did open the forwardsyslog.trap file... I observe the OID's After that, I don't know what direction to go in. I need to set the file up to sent traps to a Zenoss server , I am not finding a whole bunch of information what to edit in the file. Any tips ?

I have the same issue and need node name consistency (specifically nodes with out the Domain name) - was there a resolution and did your sql script solve your problem ?

can you try "caption" under the node category ? that is the field in the nodes table that all the host ( nodenames) are populated. -> caption

Looks like the resolve was the default port was accepted and not the port that was being used by out vm admin.

That is the logic in text - and thank your for replying - I am more interested best case uses for the NodeName filter in an alert - what are the trap doors - I need to learn the best way for use.. Are there any pitfalls using the NodeName variable ?

Thanks for the scripts - I built out a template and monitor and inserted the nfs script in the monitor and FAILED with Unknown results, I am not to sure how debug.... I Imported this undp and assigned to an Aix 6.1 server and I am not seeing the file system names. The physical volume devices are still displayed. Is an other steps besides importing the undp and assigning it to the node ?

Thanks - I was targeting any preliminary set up of AD server in a configuration page ...like addings ip or hostname so SW recognizes the AD user ? NPM doesn't need to know who / ip of the AD server ?

FYI - I know the syntax is not present to trigger if its down, In debugging I took it out. the main focus is to have both nodes trigger at the same time when the same assigned monitor goes down at the same time.

you may want to focus on Customized fields. you create a customized field an each device will inherit that field. for example: AlertGroupType: Sql Server In the advanced alert you create a simple condition for the customized field AlertGroupType = Sql server I hope I gave you enough information to work with.

The caption tag is used in several areas for different elements. When creating an email notification once you select " Insert Variable" in the Variable Category select Node, you will see the Variables available , scroll down and select Caption. this has worked for me every time.
