  • Automatic configuration was used for agent deployment. The thing is, I don't understand why they didn't all deploy the same way, as the servers are all configured the same, behind the same firewalls, etc. So what is the specific test to see if an agent can use Active? A TCP Port test from the node agent is being installed…

  • That may be true. But if I do misunderstand, it is because Solarwinds has not provided proper clarification/documentation on how this "free poller" is implemented.

  • Just getting back to this. I followed your directions, and nothing has changed... dwsolarwinds01 is the primary - the agent is running on that box but it shows RED dwsolarwinds02 is the failover - even though I made the registry changes you specified - it still shows as a mainpoller in this display: Thoughts?

  • So how do you change the mode once an agent is installed? I would like all of our Agents to be Active (Agent initiated) but for some reason when we changed to polling type to Agent from SNMP, several of our Agents are Passive (Server initiated)...

  • Can I "stack" this free APE onto existing Primary or Additional Polling Engine? If so, what is the installation procedure? What license do you specify for the free APE?
