How long would you expect to be able to go back?
-
Not sure why this got changed to closed - correcting.

@"tkercher" - very interesting. You are correct that Network Atlas previously represented issues based on the interface being down or up. However, this was a problem for many users interested in creating a visual representation of their environment. Orion Maps does currently leverage any of the metrics that have relative…

jstexasdba - have you taken a test drive with the EOC 2.0 RC? It is available in the customer portal and provides what you are asking for.

bradical987 You are correct that the new Intelligent Mapping is not a replacement for Network Atlas as stated in that post. However, the intent of that first paragraph was to indicate that we are working on it. Replacing Network Atlas is a large effort and will take some time. This release should be actual proof that…

Understood - the User Links widget can perform this for you.

Great info! Thanks for sharing! Just to extend this a bit further... If you had a method for doing this manually, you are looking for an ability to dictate the interface on either side and have that look the same as any other auto-connected topology link correct? If you had multiple maps with this same potential…

While not device specific images and views, we have built in dynamic contextual mapping for the majority of all managed entities in Orion. Curious for thoughts on this poll folks:

This is possible through the Application Dependency Connections from SAM. These are represented in Orion Maps. Orion Platform 2018.2 Improvements - Chapter Two - Intelligent Mapping Orion Platform 2018.4 Improvements - Intelligent Mapping Enhancements ORION PLATFORM 2019.2 - ORION MAPS 2.0

@"fakeusername" - This is something that may change in the future but should not be any sort of blocker now. You have the ability to share a map with any user you wish. Use the button or the URL to share the map. If that user is planning on updating or making edits, they should certainly be able to do so. Once they make…

designerfx - There is not a way to customize specific hop count... yet - But currently the maps are contextual based on the seed device. The map will automatically generate everything "connected" to that seed, whether it be through a dependency, ancestor, topology, application connections, etc... If that device is a ESX…

Awesome feedback - Thank you sir!

designerfx are you looking to have the Alerts visible from the Canvas or would the Inspector Panel be appropriate after you select an entity. Are you focused on Active Alerts or are you looking to map what alerts this object can trigger? Perhaps you can share a crude mock-up or expand on what you are hoping to see.

@"avrilspirit" Thank you for the feedback and screenshots. * The ability to have right angle or curved connections is a well understood request. It would certainly benefit maps, specifically more data dense maps as you mention above. * The ability to hide connection statistics is also well understood. It can clutter maps…

Unfortunately we are never able to provide time frames but I will tell you that work is under way. When it is possible, we will certainly share more.

Just for fun - here is a snapshot of that atrocity - brings back nightmares...

This is something we are working on. There is a similar thread here:

This might be something you would need to generate a support ticket for in order to investigate why we are not seeing the connection between the devices. If however, you choose to use Orion Maps vs Network Atlas, you could manually define that topology via the map, and have that connection be added to the database to where…

Correct. Technically you may be able to assign custom properties to the maps but it will be limited. There is not a way to dynamically add entities to a map at this time. We have some plans for this but its a bigger effort and not planned for the short term. Keep in mind that Groups (Detail Pages) do have the map tab, that…
