We are Blackberry centric for our mobile communications, we access Orion through Blackberry MDS Connection Service. It is functional, but certinly not optimal. I agree with Denny, keep it on the list but there are other features I would rank higher (like display in alerts of individul UDP table values, hint hint). :) JB

They are available in the HP Managements Agents (CPQCLUSTER-MIB table) 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.15.2.4.1 JB

Copy and paste to a file (you may nee to edit out the "-" in the first row), name it whatever.UnDP and import it. JB

Sorry Mat, the server needs to support the HP Insight Agents to get the OIDs. It doesn't look like the ML115 does. JB
-
That one's nice, Thanks Here are two more.... 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.3.2.2.2.1.2 Array Accelerator Board Status. This describes the status of the accelerator write cache. The status can be: Other (1) Indicates that the instrument agent does not recognize the status of the Array Accelerator. You may need to upgrade the instrument…

Here are a couple of good reads on Intel PAE and SQL AWE "Addressing physical memory above 4 GB requires more than the 32 bits of address offered by the standard operating mode of Intel (32-bit) processors. To this end, Intel introduced the 36-bit physical addressing mode called PAE, starting with the Intel Pentium Pro…

Thanks for spending time on this on the weekend, it seems I need do some more research on this to better understand. Thanks again JB

I have no clue, you'll need to talk to a DBA type, I found this thread http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=142234&SiteID=1 but from your jpg I only see one SQL Server Instance running Confused

If you running your VMWare farm on HP you can install the the management agents. Do you have access to the DB server where the Orion Database is housed? If so I'd run the queres directly on the database (use the sql management tool not the Orion Database Manager) and see what comes out. I use a transform to output Time Remaining on Battery and I did nothing special. Also poller Voltage is correct, at…
-
Well I guess but its a big undertaking to get such basic information. You need to create pollers to get all the oids and then make a transform to cook the raw data down, then add graphs and gauges and you still dont have any integration with the default TOP XX resources. Since the old Idle time OID is obsolete, I think SW…

Roger: Interesting information, is it possible to have an overlay flash? We have a world map with national flags representing nested maps. It's difficult to see a down status, it world be easier to see if the down overlay would flash. JB
-
Chris, Any news on this? Also is baselining from the website on the horizon? JB

That oid is for the overall condition of the array controller, "The condition of the device. This value represents the overall condition of this controller , and any associated logical drives , physical drives , and array accelerators." Do you have the Enumeration Map correct? JB

I use the same pollers on both an old and busted MSA500 G2 (SCSI) and a new hotness MSA2000 (Fiber) What server model is it? What array? Do you have HP Managemant Agents loaded on the server? JB

Any resoultion on this? I also have a server that seems to be missing performance counter objects. This is for monitoring an HP EVA 8000 SAN, there is a server (Win 2k3) that has had specific performance counter added during install of the HP EVA management applications. I can select and capture data from them using…

"SolarWinds Orion Network Performance Monitor Engine Version 8.1.3" JB

Thanks Dave, worked like a charm. JB

It will show the number of values returned for tables, and the results for single oids JB

I don't use Universal device Poller to add a resources to node details pages. I do it manually; Logon as admin and go to Manage Views Select your Node Details view or whatever view your using (I have one called "Infrastructure Details") Click the add buttion (+), open Node Detail Reports and select Universial Device Poller…

How about this stuff. JB
-
We don't alert on Load Averages (Tables are problematic) also you'd need to add logic to account for the number of processor cores in the server. JB

Is there more than one SWToolset.MenuOptions file on your workstation? is the one you edited in Program Files\Solarwinds\Common? Attached is the SWToolset.MenuOptions that works on my workstation JB

You should add: Volume Type is equal to RAM or you'll get Disks and Virtual Memory too i.e. Trigger Alert when All of the following apply Field Volume Percentage used is greate than or equal to 50 Volume Type is equal to RAM Trigger Alert when any of the following apply NodeName is equal to ABC NodeName is equal to ZXY And…
