Is it just the one x64 update that is failing? You can try deleting the update out and republishing to the WSUS server. Are you sure that the correct WSUS certificates are installed and those aren't old certificates or from a different WSUS server? That's what the error looks like. You can also try directly publishing the…

I only approve the (x64) and (x86 for x64) updates, mostly because we only have 2 or 3 x86 machines, and they are only there for legacy applications. I created a WSUS group for all the computers that get Java updates, and simply approve the updates to that group. There are a handful of applications that won't recognize x64…

You are most certainly correct. That is a really good question then. Oddly enough, if you look in the Package Details for the latest ESR update at the bottom, the more information link tries to take you to a Thunderbird release notes page, rather than Firefox.

khamsay.baig@swarovskioptik.us Cool, I'm interested to see what the problem ends up being. What does your WSUS server say about the clients and their needed updates?

Just so I'm clear, you copy the Java upgrade from Solarwinds, modify it with the MSI product code of the previous Java install so it will uninstall the previous version, and approve both Java updates (Install Upgrade and Uninstall Upgrade)? Or do you modify the Java upgrade from Solarwinds to uninstall Java previous, and…

Ours did the same thing. About 75% of our clients failed. It uninstalled all the old versions, and then failed to install the new version. I just pushed out the 8u162 install, not the upgrade patch, and it reinstalled all of them correctly.

Jamie, I'm still unable to sync the latest Java 8,131 updates, and I appear to also not be syncing the Chrome 58 update from 4/20 either. Any thoughts?

jrouviere, Thanks for the response. The Win10 machines are getting their Windows updates just like they are supposed to. Some GP settings I had to manually change due to our policies not correctly applying to Win10 machines, but I knew that was a strong possibility when I started testing. For my purposes, I manually…

Craig, You can use Win10 Pro to get updates from a WSUS and PM server. My organization is also moving to Win10 Pro from Win7 Pro, and I've been testing with some Win10 Pro computers. The group policy is a little wonky to point the clients to the WSUS server, especially since we are using 2008 R2 servers, but it does work.…

Firefox ESR is the stable release of Firefox. Firefox 57 (current release) recently defaulted to x64 when downloading and installing. My guess would be that in order to maintain backwards compatibility with x86 computers, and to reduce the number of versions that have to be maintained, Mozilla simply isn't ready to release…

The updates you get from Windows Updates are not necessarily the updates you would get from a WSUS server. If you have approved all the appropriate updates, I would check your WSUS server and see what it says the computer in question needs. If the computer in question shows a "No Status" for the updates, then the WSUS…
