  • Dear r0berth1, Thanks for sharing the steps for solving this problem. I learn much more on this, haha. Thanks for the A as well. =] Since I was asked to have a trial on the Orion NPM first, it may need to expand my installation of Orion in the future, thank you very much for sharing these valuable steps, and I already made…

  • Dear Yann, I see. It will certainly easier to read the alert when it is showing the name but not the OID, haha. Thank you very much, I now know much more about that. And I am now trying on configuration of the advanced alerts. Thanks for your help. Thanks. Best regards, Jason
  • Dear EZakes, Thank you very much. I am now understand more on that. Thanks. Best regards, Jason
  • Dear Yann, Thanks a lot. Best regards, Jason
  • Hi As bshopp said, the table which contains variables is supposed work for advanced alerts, you can use those variables in the message fields. I wonder what is the problem when you use those variables when alert is showing up? And I think the content of those variables for advanced alerts may with different style or…
  • Dear Simon, You are welcome. It is my pleasure to help you. =] Best regards, Jason
  • Dear r0berth1, Oops...It is not what I am thinking, sorry for my silly suggestion on that. Sorry for any inconvenience I made. Originally, I think it is a module like "All Nodes" as shown in your image, so I suggest that method to remove the module. Really sorry for causing any inconvenience. Thank you for r0berth1's…

  • Dear EZakes, If it is licensed by the largest number of the three object types, in NoeO's case, the licensed should be 1874, which is the number of Volumes. Hope I understand it well, under this calculation method, he/she is supposed not over the limit 2000, is that right? Thanks a lot. Best regards, Jason
  • Dear Yann Thanks a lot~ I will try it tomorrow for setting the condition without OID, thanks. May I know the reason not using OID? Is it not good because it may affect other property or else?? Thanks for sharing your valuable experience. Best regards, Jason
  • Dear denny, I am curious about this, may be someone else also want to know about this "It polls every 10 seconds until the device is either down or back up" together with what you said in previous post, "It's only marked down if it misses all those polls." I would like to know, how many times will it totally ping in the…
  • Dear Yann, Thanks. The desktop is added as ICMP since i see it is ICMPin Object Sub-Type. Can I change it to SNMP as if added as SNMP? or I need to do some other works to make it becomes SNMP? or it cannot be change since desktop should classified as ICMP? Best regards, Jason
  • Dear Yann, Do you mean that we can first install the web console on the main Orion server, and once the web console is running on an additional server, we can then stop the web console or even shutdown ISS on the main Orion server without any problem for the network performance monitoring? Thanks. Best regards, Jason
  • Dear r0berth1, Sorry for that my suggestion didn't work. Since I haven't install netflow, I supposed it is similar to other modules. Really sorry about that. But I wonder what is "installed module at the top of the page" means? Would you mind posting a image about that? Since I just started my first career this year…

  • Dear adelgigs, Hope I remember it correctly, and if someone can help, please post a figure about that since I not yet re-installed the Orion again after the trial. After pull down the top of the trigger tab, there will be Node, Interface, Volume, Custom Node Pollers, etc After Select "Custom Node Pollers"<--something like…
  • Dear bshopp, Yes. I think so. But one more point I want to know is that, what is the affect on me if it is added as ICMP but not SNMP. Since I can use notebook and server to ping each other as well as the switch to generate some traffics and give alerts on the average packets transmitted, or recieved, etc once the…
  • Dear ozlecz, I haven't have a trial on auto arrange, but it should be answered in this post that you asked previously. "> Thanks. Best regards, Jason
  • Dear all, I am also curious about it. Is the license number just the sum of number of all nodes, interfaces and volumes? Just use NoeO's post as an example what I mean. Is the license number is 3112 for him where 3112=259+979+1874. i.e. he/she is still over the limit 2000. Is the calculation method like this? If so, for…
  • thanks~
  • Hi Yann, Thanks a lot. But since I am new to Network Performance Monitoring, I have a question that what is UnDP_Name? Is it the "freeMem" in first attachment and the "icmpOutMsgs" in second attachment? Or can I use the method mentioned in the link you given? I mean using Trigger Alert when all of the following apply…
  • Hi, "It doesn't follow the exact figure keyed in" Is it related to the setting of that object? In the properties of object, there will be one item default selected. I forget the name, but it makes the object change in scale automatically. Say, you enter 100, 100 for a object. It may become (100, 1XX) or (100, 9x) If this…
  • Dear wendal, You are welcome. It is my pleasure to help you, haha. =] Best regards, Jason
  • Dear bshopp, Oh yes...I guess I find the reason why I donot receive any advanced alert. (Suppose to be the cause of not receiving any advanced alert) After opened the Orion Service Manager today, I saw that SolarWinds Alerting Engine is in "Stopped", but not in "Running". After I start it, make it become "Running", the…
  • Dear bshopp, It should be all are selected, but all are in grey color. (as you see in attachment) Thanks. Best regards, Jason
  • Thank you very much, I will try this in the coming days as I have another urgent stuff need to work on. Cheers
  • It is in the configuration of basic alert. When choosing Send SNMP trap, the trap template have two types, one is orion-detailed-alert, another one is orion-generic-alert, I would like to know the different between them, thanks~ Thank you very much.
  • Dear Yann, "Check as well if you added the devices as SNMP nodes instead of ICMP ones." I am new to the area of network performance monitoring, I would like to know how to check it is added as ICMP or SNMP? Thank you for answering me in detail, the information is very useful in helping me. Thanks. Best regards, Jason
  • Yup. As bshopp said, if you leave the subtitle blank, it will automatically named according to the method they are grouped by in the sub-menu bar in the format of "Grouped by level1, level2, level3". (Hope I remember it correctly, may not be exactly, but should be similar to this format) Thanks. Best regards, Jason
  • Dear all, Just checked from the guide, I found the following: “The Orion additional web server allows you to remotely view the Orion Web Console of your primary Orion NPM server just as you would see it if you were logged in locally on the primary Orion NPM server. The additional web server enables remote users to view the…
  • Dear scteran, Since I only make a small network for trial before, I only have not more than three devices. If what you mean is just want to show different nodes in different view(this view I mean in something like "Node Detail", "Interface Detail", that kind of view). You can somehow "hardcode" some scripts in the "Custom…
