It never hurts to ask, the worst they can do is say "No". Unfortunately, these 4507's have dual SUP's, so the question then becomes which one do you replace, or do you replace both? Considering the cost involved with replacing both, I am fairly certain they are going to be hesitant to do so. I have a GTM on Monday with my…

That is correct...

Thanks Marie, I just reposted it there.

Hi Jiri, I was wondering if Andy from Cisco ever contacted you about this? Jon
-
Hi Jiri, So I worked with our Cisco Army reps, and I found out that my CCO account is linked to a Cisco Enterprise Services Agreement contract. I went ahead and linked my CCO with SmartNet Total Care, and did not have any issues. However, I am still getting the "UserID is not valid" error while trying to use the connector.…

Thanks Andy, Any idea when more netflow alerts will be made available?

Not to sound like I am begging (but I am ;-), is there any chance that the DoD/Government compliance reports (i.e. STIG, DIACAP, FISMA, etc.) will be added? We really, really, really need these compliance reports in our environment. Currently, the only way we can do these is manually (RAT works on the routers, but that is…

Denny, Woot, I just received APM. I have it installed and patched to SP4, but I am assuming that I ill have to wait for version 2 until I can monitor Windows components. While I am waiting for version 2 to be released, can you point me to a good WMI counter resource? Somthing where I could look up the value I am interested…

Unfortunately, I no longer work with SW, and I do not recall. Sorry, Jon

I tried the Real-Time Interface Monitor from the Engineer's Toolset, and I have the same issue. I see interfaces 6/1-16, but nothing for 6/17-48. Jon

I do not know if this post is still being monitored, but I am setting up temperature monitoring on all of my devices, and I would love to see a thermometer guage added just for this pupose! Jon

I have created the following alert trigger for my non-cisco equipment, but it isn't working. I am sure that I have it structured wrong. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong?
-
Just figured out that you have to change Prime from "Classic View" to " Operational View"
-
Thanks John, this is exactly what I was looking for!
-
I would definitely like to see this as a native feature as well. Also, we are moving toward 802.1x authentication, so having that built-in would be very helpful too! Jon

Can you verify the OID that you are using for your polling? I understand that you can't get UDP to open right now, but I was hoping you might have it in your notes. After walking the MIB Tree, I am thinking that it might be: CISCO-PORT_SECURITY-MIB:cpsIfPortSecurityStatus OID: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.315.1.2.1.1.2

Here is the SNMP debug dump from the switch in question. You can see all the SNMP requests coming in from the poller and the switch sending back info. I see the interfaces being enumerated as well.

Interesting, I don't have that file. I have a BuisnessLayerHost file.

If I click on the alert, I get this:

Hmmn, I am looking at the release notes, but I don't see anything for this particular alert: SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor version 12.0 Hotfix 1 ============================================================ This hotfix addresses the following issues: - Hardware health polling does not work for specific Cisco…

Thank you Marie, I appreciate it! Jon

I guess that might be my problem. I wasn't aware that custom menu tabs couldn't be created.

Thank you, I was able to figure out how to do this, but I have run into one issue. I assigned the Network Map object to their view, but I can't figure out how to set the appropriate map to the "Network Map" object. The Guest account does not have rights to edit the object. Do I need to elevate the Guest account, edit the…

Thanks for the suggestion. I had already tried it, and didn't think it worked as I still had 75 devices "stuck" in the Ignore List. After messing with it for awhile, I have determined that I have an NPM issue as these 75 devices cannot be removed for some reason. Do you happen to know which db table this info resides in? I…

Hi Richard, not exactly... We have access to a second, not-for-work network. It is the typical, log in with a username and password portal thing. It is managed by a third party, so I just want to ping the DG to verify that it is up. That is why it is so important not to route traffic between that network and the production…

Yea, it isn't a device that we control either as it belongs to our service provider. I hate the thought of routing the vlan as that will cause all sorts of security concerns from IA, so I am just going to go with the second NIC, and see how that works out.

The watchlist is really what I would like to implement, but it doesn't appear that I can add lists of devices that contain wildcards into a watchlist like I can with a whitelist. What I really want to do is add all of the OUI's for vendors of non-Cisco network equipment (i.e. Netgear, Linksys, etc.) into a watchlist so I…

Thanks Paul! Can I add the following Triggering Condition to the "Alert me when a component goes critical [APM]" to still receive the alerts for all of the other APM applications, but NOT the one I created the new rule for: -Simple Condition -Application Name is not equal to APM Application Name

Hi Christine, I was just doing some research and ran across something I was not aware of that relates to this. There are now multiple STIGs for different classes of devices and for which layer they are operating at. Most of them were just updated in October, and here is a listing off all of the Networking STIGs that are…

Hi Sham, I agree with you, but I am not sure how to do this. Is there an application available like the SolarWinds TFTP Server, but for SCP? I know the CLI command for copying the files to the switch/router with SCP, but the server will need to be running some kind of SCP Server service, won't it? Jon
