I sent the packet capture on to Cisco, but I have yet to hear back from them.

Thanks Denny, I completely understand. Jon

Hello, I too am at an Army installation, and am looking for a way to monitor CPU, Memory, and Disk Space on Windows systems. Did you ever find a way to do this with SolarWinds? I have APM with SP4 installed, but I do not see a way to do this via WMI. As far as the SNMP v3 agent sugestion goes, I am unaware of an Army…

Hi CourtesyIT, I was wondering if you have an eta for the STIG report updates? Jon
-
Thank you, Jon
-
Thanks! That is a great reg key to remember! If I can ever get the virtual team to get me that second nic , on the correct vlan, I will let you all know how if works.
-
Ah Ha, that probably explains it then. I'll check with Websense and see if they support the HOST-RESOURCES-MIB

Okay, It looks like my Network Devices Alert is working: However, my Server Alert is not: Can anyone see what might be the problem with it?
-
Hi Mav, I'll definitely check out the NTA Admin Guide. As far as alerts go, we have run into an issue where one of our 1gig links gets saturated and then pretty much does a DOS on that segment. We were hoping that we could setup an alert that if a flow grew to x mbps on a specified link, it would alert us. That way we…

Unfortunately, I don't have any spare SUP's. I did a GTM with SW TS today and we discovered that the switch in question is only returning 84k OIS's before timing-out while a identical switch returns over 300k OID's without timing-out. Thus, it appears the issue is on the switch for sure. I have passed this info on to Cisco…

I tried the tool again this morning, and I am still getting "UserId is not valid" errors.
-
Hi Jiri, Yes, I can log into the portal.
-
Unfortunately not, and I have not received any feedback from SW about my request to have it added. Now that SW is on the "approved software" list for DoD, I know that a lot of us DoD folks are probably using it. These reports would be a HUGE bennefit for us all! Jon

Hi Denny, Any further updates on the progress of this? We too, would REALLY like to see a TACACS+ (or RADIUS) authentication feature added to NPM and NCM.

As I am setting up my monitors, I keep having new ideas Along with the thermometer guage for monitoring temperatures, I think that it would be cool to have a guage that looks like a hard drive to use for monitoring disk capacity. Jon
-
I already did. Unfortunately I was told that it was a Cisco problem and I would need to contact Cisco :-( Jon
-
Still not having any luck. I simplified the rule: but it still isn't firing.
-
Ah Ha, Any chance it can be added to the "wish list"?
-
This is probably a silly question, but how would you prevent routing across the host?
-
Almost forgot about the persistent route, so thanks for reminding me!

Thanks Chad, This is exactly what I needed to do. TIME OF EVENT MESSAGE 8/19/2016 1:04 PM Plugin "VNQM Business Layer" failed to start on [SARAH]. Please restart the Module Engine service on [SARAH]. 8/19/2016 12:34 PM Plugin "VNQM Business Layer" failed to start on [SARAH]. Please restart the Module Engine service on…

Hello, I just noticed that the Network STIGs have been updated as of 4 Feb. What is the policy at SolarWinds for keeping compliance reports updated? The current reports are for "Version: 8 Release: 4 - 29 October 2010". The most recent STIGs are dated "Version 8, Release 5, 28 January 2011". Is there an eta for new…

Thanks Peter, We are not allowed to install RC software, but as soon as it gets released, I'll take a look at that.
-
Hi borgan, This was exactly what I was looking for. SW tech support also pointed me to - DiscoveryIgnoredInterfaces - DiscoveryIgnoredVolumes I had a bunch of "cruft" in these other two tables as well. I cleared all three of them out. Hopefully this will help.

Interesting... I just went out to AKO and pulled the latest Army Approved Software list, and Net-SNMP is not on it. That means that Army orgs are not supposed to use it. According to this list, there are no approved products that give Windows SNMP v3 capabilities. You have to love it when you are told that you can only use…

This is rather interesting. I went into the appliance and verified that only SNMP v3 is anabled, but there are no view restrictions that I can determine. If I do a MIB walk on the appliance via SNMP v3, it comes back with a lot supported MIBs (MIB2-DAN-MIB-ADMIN, SNMPV2-MIB, IF-MIB, MIRAPOINT-MASTER-MIB, IP-MIB, and…

Unfortunately, for this type of check, that logic is reversed. Higher numbers are better than lower numbers. Thus, the check should be if 91 < the critical value. If so, then it should be considered Critical. Can this be corrected in the template somehow?

I posted a message over at Forums Home » Orion Family » Network Configuration Manager named "Determining Cisco Chassis Manufactured Date". The moderator there suggested that I repost it here. Anyway, here is what I am looking for: Does anyone know of a way to pull the manufactured date for a Cisco chassis? I can get a…

Thanks Darryl, this is pretty much what I was looking for. The only problem is that we have a limited NPM license, and we are not monitoring every interface. I was hoping that I could get the info out of NCM instead. This capability is in NCM via the Orion Network Configuration Manager by double-clicking on the node in…
