you need first to upgrade you NTA flow storage database server which i sense it is on a separate server before you can upgrade the NTA application to 4.1.1. Just use the same installer NTA 4.1.1 for upgrading both NTA app and NTA database.
-
This is not a feature at the moment. NTA has 2 alerts only. 1. Interface utilization alert with Top talkers 2. CBQoS alerts. But NTA does not have the alert - to trigger when an endpoint generated this amount of ingress or egress data.
-
check out the NPM 11.5.2 release notes: SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor Release Notes then if you push with the 11.5.2 upgrade - make sure you install Hotfix 6.
-
check if you are sending any traps or syslog to that poller from your monitored devices. check also your polling time on the said poller.
-
I believe this is really by design. When you unmanage a node, Orion NPM does not treat it or see it that it was a down state. This is also the reason when you generate an availability report to a node that was unamanage, the availability remains 100% (given the fact that the node never had any down issue).
-
Check also your Traps Table and Syslog table - this is usually the table get filled up when you enabled this to your network and often used for monitoring.
-
yes, Orion web >> Home >> reports >> search Group availability. you can generate a report on that >> then go to Group sub tab >> customize page >> add Report from Orion report writer and add the resource. save it and go back to the same page >> edit and put the report for Group availability.

open a Solarwind Support ticket so that they can guide you with the upgrade path and recommended set-up for your upgrade.

Run SNMPwalk to your Alcatel device Open C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion and run SNMPWalk.exe On the result text file look for this OID - 1.3.6.1.2.1.2 NPM uses standard RFC1213: Free RFC1213-MIB SNMP MIB Download - Free MIB Download - Search MIBs - OiDViEW

There is no way on the web console. But work-around is: * Remote access your Orion server * Start >> All programs >> Solarwinds Orion >> Advance Features >> Database Manager * Add default server >> Expand your database >> Look for the table NetFlowApps >> right click and query table * Click Execute query >> there is a…

nope. It uses Topology OIDs for Orion to show that utilization. SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: What object IDs (OIDs) does the Orion Platform poll for network topology information? What …

I believe it is really how the application work. It Orion NPM will always update the NodeName once the hostname change via DNS lookup request by Orion on its server.
-
first can you check if the Cisco 5508 is seen on the Wireless feature on NPM. Make sure that NPM already recognize it as a Wireless AP. check what jeff.stewart said.
-
this is used for best practice at user ease if they do not have VM back-up or they have not enabled those settings.
-
NTA does not have that feature. But you can check this on page 171: https://support.solarwinds.com/@api/deki/files/9966/NetFlowAdministratorGuide.pdf or How to Track Traffic by Site on page 162.
-
go to Home >> Alerts tab >> Manage Alert >> search for your alert on High Packet Loss. >> select and Edit >> On the trigger condition tab >> check the box Condition must exist for more than (put a number like 2 minutes) depending on your service level agreement. this is to prevent spike values if the nature of the nodes…

What version of NPM you are using? If you are on NPM 11.5 - try the Manage Poller (Web console >> Settings >> Node & Group Management >> Manage Poller >> create a new poller).
-
1. Copy the UNDP file and place it anywhere on the Orion server 2. Launch UNDP 3. File >> Import UNDP 4. Click OPEN >> browse the undp file. 5. Expand the poller and click import >> click OK that should create now a new folder on the All Defined Poller >> start assigning and testing it to your device.

NTA is mainly used to show the breakdown of traffic of a certain interface. For example you have a router and you have enabled netflow on it >> monitored on interface port 1 on NTA application - what you can get from it is the Top Endpoints (more like Top talkers) that utilize your bandwidth given on a specific time. It…
-
this is something not available yet. It will be a Feature request.
-
I don't think NPM has that kind of alert design. If we are talking here to suppress a single node from alerting - if multiple interfaces went down, it will really fire separate alert for each. You cannot set-up a dependency on it. The Alert that was set-up is Interface type, and it will look on the interface table on the…

It is all on saved on the database. Just make sure you have planned a db back-up religiously.
-
make sure that you enable or set the compatibility level of your current database at least to 100. to check your compatibility run this on your database on MS SQL management studio: USE name of the database; GO SELECT compatibility_level FROM sys.databases WHERE name = 'name of your database'; GO Then if the result is…

first you need to create a folder on the Orion server for NTA reports, C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\Reports Then go back to the Orion web - login with Admin >> edit the Accounts on Manage Account >> set the folder permission >> drop down and put it on the folder you created. Then give them access to the tab for…

Yes, even on VNQM 4.2.3 - this is not yet available. You can only sort the use of custom property when looking for the IPSLA nodes on adding an operation.

I believe this is a reserved port which Solarwinds does not allow as per industry standard (IANA). We try to enable this before on our system to monitor possible threats/attacks, however saving throws that it is out of range or something. We made sure that port 0 is block on our firewall so that this port will not have…

make sure that the nodes added on NPM and placed on the map have Layer 2 and 3 detected and added for NPM monitoring. Also if your devices are contains the OID that NPM uses for topology:…

You may try this. 1. Access your Orion web console 2. Settings 3. Views section 4. View by device type 5. Look for your Wireless Controller and change from default to Wireless Controller. If this still not show the Wireless AP, run SNMPwalk to your wireless controller and cross check the OID result to this links:…

no. It will be up to the Server (where Solarwinds application are installed) to resolved those IP addresses that you have added. If the server itself via command line cannot resolve it then SW application will not show the hostname. Possibly put it on the hostfile of check the DNS settings of your server.

can you try uninstall and reinstall it on your local pc.
