Going on 10+ hours and no issues. Woo hoo.
-
Even with HF4? Thanks
-
When are you planning to deploy HF4? Inquiring minds on the sidelines are eager for your results..

Thanks. I should have googled a bit more before posting. Gazillion options out there.

I had a DAU scheduled for today but admittedly we became spooked by the negative reports floating in. I'm truly heartbroken to cancel but our SolarWinds instance is used by some huge companies that are fed sales pitches daily about why they need this cloud monitoring tool or that cloud monitoring tool. If their NOC screen…

Yes, its already there in the IIS page per my screenshot, I'm asking about putting it in a generic new view as a resource.
-
Thanks. I saw a recent post that this hot fox rendered someone's system down. Was that a one-off?

Care to share anything for the HA knowledge thirsty masses huddling around you now?

Hi Greg - I was wondering if the alert example above is a secondary alert, in addition to the alert that the Parent alert? I assume that the 10 minute timeout is for secondary Node alerts for child objects, not for the primary alerts on the parent. Thanks for your thoughts on this. I'm just looking for the best way to…

Hes asking for a report that has been asked in many threads. A report that shows trends of CPU/DISK/MEM for a group of servers. It has not been pulled together in a clean way since disks are difficult to list at the server level along with CPU/MEM. There is no report available that does this in a clean way for a big group…

You can also filter on a Node custom property that ties to the Controller - doesn't help you though, but its nice to see these options open up for me anyway. So in my case, I have Customer CP at the Controller level that filters down to the APs.

Yessums!

It would be awesome if SolarWinds could provide a simple server summary report based on a date range for CPU, disk, Memory. Why is there not one? Couldn't nearly every customer use this? Is it because the data cannot be pulled easily? Seems like a no brainer to me that we should have such a report.

I have 2 closed and 1 open ticket on these issues. Here is a third client with constant crashes as well. Its just a bummer that these .NET errors are prevalent across three independent environments. I wish there was a way to know what component of SNMP .NET is unhappy with in the below error.

He doesn't want to remove all monitoring from the Node. He wants the site removed from Appinsight inventory and monitoring. I have many of these too. This issue illustrates the lack of control for AppInsight customization granularity in the UI. Someday we will hopefully get there. Maybe there is a way to do it with direct…

There are many discrepancies though for Cisco serials. Many threads on this one. Here is the result a ticket I opened on this...we were never able to get a single report to give all Cisco serial data. "Since some of the OIDs for service tag or serial number for some nodes/devices cannot be polled by default and creating…

So I can literally stand up a 2019 server, shut down my main polling engine, and point a 2019.4 install at my 12.3 database? I've never done an O/S move and I'm wondering what the easiest way for a 2012 R2 12.3 to 2019 2019.4 move.

Thank you so much Serena.... So should I totally disregard the SAM 6.9.1 install first recommendation? And just assume the installer will "do its thing"? I can run the installer during production hours to get the guidance pre-checks right without affecting services right? Pretty sure this is a Yes, but just making sure...…

I would try and restart all services.
-
I'm pretty sure you need to return a statistical value in your script. Look at the Linux Perl process monitor template as an example - if ($service =~ "arg1") { print "Message: Please replace arg1 with the value you are searching for\n"; print "Statistic: 0"; exit (4); } else { my $servicecheck= `ps -ef | grep $service |…

Are you on Windows 2016? We are migrating to Windows 2016 this week and I'm curious if people out there have more issues on 2016 ---VS--- 2012 R2. Thanks

nks7892 Are you saying you had issues with 12.2 upgrade? And your system was down? Sorry, just trying to clarify your post from a version standpoint since you say you're in between upgrades. Thanks
-
Thanks. I do understand that. I guess I was looking for what kind of event is generated if the syslog daemon is stopped. I don't work on our routers so I just wanted to ask our Netops guy to do the correct process to generate an audit event of "syslog was stopped" and "syslog was started". Thanks

Hi Mark - I'm trying to add a custom Node property "Customer" in here for the column output, and my formatting isn't working. I am trying:
-
Thanks for confirming. I was certain I couldn't but just needed a gut check confirmation. :-)

12.4 and above requires Win 2016.

This would be like asking Elon to make your Tesla a gas fuel car instead of electric. The re-write of Orion from .NET and into some other Linux happy architecture would be a massive effort as far as I can tell since the entire suite is so entrenched in Windows. Just my .02 cents
-
If only APEs were not $21,000 though.
-
This is awesome.

I feel your pain. I explain a similar situation in the HA forum. We had to uninstall and re-install all services to get back on track. When the Orion template component 'Job Scheduler v2: Results Notified Error' counter is building, this is when stats collection stops, and my stomach turns into knots. And we have to bounce…
