Regarding SQL AAG AppInsight for SQL Always-On Cluster monitoring For a regular WFOC cluster see Monitor a Microsoft Windows Server failover cluster in SAM - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support
-
What are the specs of your system? All roads lead to the hardware requirements spec page for DB issues. Do you have the Orion application SAM template loaded? Any issues there with jobs queued or jobs lost?
-
Use the Orion server template to catch anomalies in stats/data collection. If Results Notified error is high, interface collection and many other thintgs is most likely stalled.
-
Do you see Application event log entries for login failures on the SQL side?
-
Many, many threads on this, and its one of the most major headaches for us too . People say to do discoveries but when you are dealing with 1500 nodes, this is not a clean option at all. Especially since you have no control over Windows credentials being blasted at all of these nodes in an incoherent way. We were locking…

Do you have NPM event log write actions in your alert defintion? If yes, are they successful? Something to also try.... Make a copy of your alert. Open the copied Alert in the wizard. Make the threshold absurdly low or high against your current threshold to force it to trigger, and at the end of the alert wizard, does it…

Bump for more experience and feedback in the field with HA. Thanks

Do you have APEs? Can you do a MIB walk? Firewall rules blocking? Success Center

On our win7 kiosk dashboard devices were also setup with a scheduled task to run iexlore refresh process with a hard URL to the NOC view specified. Its been a while but we were able to do this with kiosks and various GPO trickery.

Ah, yes, the classic case of the spinning Windows 2012/2016 post-reboot, pre-login screen. Unfortunately, this one plagues a lot of us. Mostly, this happens with virtual machines in my opinion. There is no effective way to detect this condition if all services are started. If you're patching 2500 servers in one shot, that…

Works good for us for DEVs that want Memory threshold alerts.

This error has been infuriating our apps team for years now. Has anyone ever figured this out?

It appears this is going to be ongoing issue for us. Just another manual tweak to remember to do during maintenance. Ugh.
-
I guess it would be something like https://domain.com/Orion/APM/Admin/RealTimeEventLogViewer/Default.aspx?NetObject=N:${Node.NodeID}}&CredId=-3 Update with your preferred CredId. I haven't tested this so YRMV.

I'm guessing there is no easy way to combine asset/software inventory reports pulling SQL versions and all of that hardware data without some SQL wizardry. I love using Download Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit from Official Microsoft Download Center for these kinds of reports.
-
Taking a stab at it ---- Try going to Admin, Manage Views, create a new view "Type of view: AppInsight for Exchange Application Details" Then add your objects. i did not confirm if what you want is possible, just suggesting a possible solution.
-
Embed an HTML widget with an <img> link of the device in the Node details view, coded to specially select the image based on Node details name using encoded URL query string parameters. I can see it, but can't do it. Hey, like Steve Jobs. The smart people can do it for sure though.
-
How are the teams accessing the dashboard, on their desktops via a direct page or do you have a NOC screen in their area? The perf widgets are real time and more up to date as well if you are on 2019.4 you can try those resources.
-
So you are using SAM but want to know how to not use SAM? Or you are looking for PowerShell only component without using URL, Process, service components?
-
Open a Node page on one of these, and look at the response time and packet loss chart. You most likely had packet loss.
-
Schedule Unmanaged Utility Works for us.
-
I think groups for application objects is a feature request which could possibly address this problem.
-
Search for the file name on alternate server. or you can extract all of the offline installers on another host. Call support and get the direct link to the MSI - its usually somewhere here - https://downloads.solarwinds.com/solarwinds/CatalogResources/DPIXXXXXXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXXX This error happens every time I upgrade lately…
-
I believe only Agents will cache data during (24 hours) during a DB down situation.
-
I would monitor SQL services on your database and the core SCCM services on your primary/secondary servers.
-
Can you elaborate on the mess? A mess is giving 100 people access to things they can break. So, have you defined what access these 100 people need? Do they need to add nodes? Delete nodes? Create views, alter thresholds? Change the main front UI page? Add users? What modules do you have?

Good upgrade info here - New Server 2016 and Migrating SQL from 2012 to 2016. + OS Upgrade vs Server Migration - for NPM 12.1 to 12.2 /SAM 6.6 + Install or upgrade Orion Platform products - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support I'm in your boat as well. Our DB is updated to 2016, but I'm waiting to do 12.4 and 2016…

Are you asking how to just get: * Machine Name * OS * DNS Name * CPU Cores * RAM (GB) * Disk (GB) All of these are available as a regular node object. SQL Appinsight not needed for basic OS and HW data.
-
NPM for most if this. Capacity varies depending on your infrastructure - do you use vmWare for example, which would lead to other products - VIM etc.
