I think the OR condition is doing the opposite of what you want, if you want an alert if both are full, then the OR is saying alert if either disk is full, but not both. If I'm reading this correctly... .:)

What about configuring your alert to trigger on Unknown status?

Treat it like any other node. No special requirements I can think of other than polling thresholds for CloudWatch which has its limits but that is on the AWS side, not the SolarWinds side. You can monitor all applications in AWS that SAM supports.

Have you limited the objects that user has access to in their account and the view?

SNMP is not needed as long as WMI is working. Did you inherit an environment with SNMP turned on in the Windows OS to forward traps to Orion? There might be logic behind the decision, such as getting hardware or other trap data from other devices. What kind of traps are you receiving?
