Custom Properties and LDAP access restrict AD Groups to specific Custom Property location / group / or type etc.. May have to create allot of AD Groups to allow shared access for specific users.

We have set nightly Reboot schedules mostly for Citrix Environments. I simply created a few Reboot Groups based on Schedules and added those groups to our Node Down Alerts with the Reboot schedules to not alert during those set times if member of that group. No Maintenance periods required.

We have about 15 different monitoring tools / app triggers with email alerts all sending alerts to Service NOW to create tickets and use those dashboards on Service NOW for ticket tracking and SLA's. We use SolarWinds to clear tickets in Service NOW if the condition clears is SolarWinds.

I Agree I have several groups and offices that need more detailed security settings. on what can be and not be accessed. Currently we use Custom Properties to limit the views of nodes to prevent this access but it should be a security setting. Ran into allot of issues trying to get Password age on SW local accounts. Basically SolarWinds does not record dates on Password changes. There are several Compliance reports I have to do annually and run into these issues on Accounts. Best Advice is get rid of SW local accounts and use only LDAP and let AD do the account…

In The Maintenance schedule setup you have the ability to either Mute Alerts or unmanage the Node. I prefer to only mute so the SW Syslogs still show the device restarts etc. to confirm devices restarted etc.

May want to update I believe Maintenance schedules was introduced in 2025.2. This will allow you to setup a recurring scheduled Outage time to mute alerts.

I show the same issues, regular search does not produce any results. Guess they took a page from the Microsoft updates and call it enhanced features. I'm opening a ticket to get the old GUI back as this update is worthless and not helpful at all.

Has the Service NOW Admins added any required fields for ticket close? I would review the ticket structure and verify this as some updates the Service NOW admins get creative and add data fields that are required on the close reasons etc. which can halt the automated close process if not configured in SolarWinds correctly.…

Once you have setup a Application monitor in SAM you can assign Custom_Properties you have created to the Application monitor. I use this method when assigning tickets from SolarWinds to Service NOW so the ticket automatically gets assigned to the correct group. In the Application monitor select manage custom properties…

mesverrum on your script for the Active Alerts could it be possible to reduce this from all active alerts for all nodes to active alerts on nodes within a custom property variable to allow it to be added to dashboards based on those specific custom property nodes?

I would run two alerts based on OS or a Custom Property group assigned to the type of servers to allow for the correct alert conditions message to apear.

Yes this Bug was a major compliance issue with my group what a disaster we had to disable al the group page maps. Has anyone confirmed this is fixed in 2024.4 and above?

I had a similar issue with this a few months ago, it was due to account limitations. We had accounts with limited access to certain nodes via custom properties in the account setup. Verify they listed with an account with full admin access.
