Sorry Forgot Just need to verify the Age of the passwords on Solarwinds application local accounts prior to an annual Change / and then rerun the script after a change showing the age counters reset.

I punted this to the Service NOW team since we use categories in SN for where the ticket originated. All of our SolarWinds tickets are considered Automated so they used that to allow only those tickets generated from SolarWinds(Category Automate) to allow closed comments and notes in the tickets to be updated after ticket…

If you have several additional pollers these should be the only devices that poll on your MPE. This really helps in my environment.

I would go one step further on a group page when you add a group MAP to that individual groups page it will display that same map on all the other groups regardless.

adam.beedell When updated Firmware removes an existing function that has been around for years, then adds more steps to a simple task to make it less user friendly and does not produce the desired results like it used to, well you might as well rename the company to Microsoft. Why on earth would I want to select nodes from…

Well here is the reply from the tech support desk : Please follow the below resolution steps, Resolution The issue is tentatively planned to be fixed in SolarWinds Platform 2024.4 and above To workaround the problem, perform the following steps: Login to SolarWinds Platform Navigate to Settings > Manage Nodes From the…

case 01752390 was opened for this issue

I live in the Legacy View and agree the newer GUI was not worth the man hours invested to created it.

I use one Company name _Location. We use this custom property with account limitations to limit access to nodes at certain locations so they only see their locations nodes to reduce scope in the dashboards with in SW.
-
Had a similar issue with this when we had to change IP's on Nodes when they were in Disaster Recovery drills. I usually had to delete the Node and rediscover it to get the issue resolved. Granted this was about 3-4 years ago and can not recall what version but have not had that issue with the newer released versions.

I just applied the KISS rule to have an alert sent via email to SW Admins when a NODE is added or Remved as some may need to go to Compliance dept. as proof for records. I included the trigger condition and the Email HTML to grab the needed info. I setup a rule in my email app to keep this in a specific folder for upto a…

From my Experience with SW Tech support recently it's mostly not in the CONUS, which is not a big deal but it never fails when I do receive a reply it's usually an Email several hours after normal working hours for me and so you get in a 24 hour Email conversation when a simple call during working hours would probably…

Basically I can not set the MAP to public view. The only way I know to get this to work is to use a shared account which in this case is not acceptable. So how do restricted users see a restricted map with out other groups seeing the devices on the MAP? SolarWinds needs better defined security settings for restricting…

I have had issues with Custom Properties getting corrupt and the only fix was to remove and rebuild the Custom properties data. We use custom Properties to limit node visibilities based on user roles and also for ticket allocation groups etc.
-
I set up an alert to myself anytime a new Node is added as we have a few Field Network Admins that can add devices so it's always best to go back and QA the discovery and we use several custom properties like street address which puts a google maps on the device alerts emails as well as the dept who gets the alerts and…

It was cheaper to get a free OS2 Warp on 3.5's to format to use for other data back in the day.
-
Your not the only one... seems like you get one email on ticket creation and you will never hear from them again.
-
I figured it out.. ditched the user comments section in the SAM template and created a custom property for applications for a text field and added the custom property to the application needing the alert instructions. added the custom property to the application alert and modified the HTML code for bold letters etc so it…

We ended up just using the Mail Eater in SNOW, Setup a EMail templet in DPA to include all the required fields and let SNOW create the tickets. Much better ticket creation response then going through the SNMP extra steps..
-
From my experience the best solution we implemented is to let SolarWinds determine if the condition is still active and let the ticket live in SNOW. When the condition is no longer true let it clear in SolarWinds and trigger a close incident on that node from SolarWinds to Service NOW which will close the ticket.…

monitoringlife Would you care to share a setup on this I have the same project now since my DBA's dumped OEM for DPA. looking to go traps from DPA to SW to creating a SNOW incident.

We use SolarWinds, SCCM and Service Now Discovery between those 3 sources we discover new devices to update the CMDB / Asset Managment in Serice NOW. Unfortantantly we do not capture purchase information yet but is in the works.

I Built a custom property for the Citrix group of servers and setup a one off alert just for this group and used time of day functions within the alert details to blackout the Reboot / rebuild times. So as servers change it's easier to apply the custom property and the alerts are set.
-
Has this ben addressed in the 2022.4.1 release? I did not see any mention of JMX Monitoring in the release notes.

I have a nightly scheduled server restart schedule for several servers. I had the same issue how to setup a nightly mute alerts schedule. I simply added nodes with this reboot schedule a custom property group "Nightly Restart" and created a new alert for only these custom properties servers and using the Time of Day tab in…

I get the same return after clearing spaces in Notepad++. So how does one go about getting this fixed to allow an import without powershell?
