It's a new year and over 6 months since the release of vSphere 4 (ESX 4)!!! Are we any closer to getting this resolved? Our support comes up in the next few months, and I can guarantee that if this has not been resolved, upper management WILL have us looking for a new monitoring solution. This is not what I want to do, as…

LOL!!!! Hey... I’m just trying to keep the upper tax bracket off my back. I get asked almost daily if it’s been fixed. We are delaying our vSphere migration on this. With that said, go ahead and sign me up for the beta of 9.6.
-
I am going to go ahead and get it out there, because you know it's going to happen. Which will we see first SP4 or 9.6?
-
Just as a follow up... I had a feedback session with Brandon yesterday on monitoring ESX4/vSphere in Orion. We had a very good conversation and I am happy to report that they are on the right track with the new version. I am looking forward to it.

tknutson, Were you able to get this working? I have not had the time to devote to deploying this is a test environment. Thanks, Christian

Next Release? I must say again, how disappointed I am. Back when SolarWinds first released VMware support in NPM, SolarWinds made a big deal about being VMware partners. We can't wait for the next release to resolve this issue. This should have been on the road map when you were in the design stages for NPM 9.5. The…

Brandon, I just wanted to check and see if you have any new information in regards to ESX4? Thanks, Christian

Have they released SP1 for APM yet?
-
The way I got mine to work was, I deleted all my stored credentials and added them back. After that I applied the credentials to the template, and it worked after that. Christian

1. Right click the LED/Object you want to add the label to and click Add Label 2. You should now see the label, right click it and click Label Properties. 3. Add your variable

I had this problem in 2.5 on maybe two nodes with about 10 components. In APM 3.0 RC I did not have any at all. Once I installed APM 3.0 GA, I started getting more of these with the error "Connection timeout. Job canceled by scheduler." I have gone in and increased the timeouts up to 1200 seconds/20 minutes to correct the…

How can you say the fault is with VMware? SolarWinds being a partner should have tested this early on. I had the betas/RCs for 6 months before it came out. That should have given SolarWinds plenty of time to test NPM 9.5 with ESX 4. vSphere was released in May and many other monitoring solutions came out immediately or…

The account that is running the report does NOT have Allow View Customization or the Toolset Intergration.
-
The variables are listed in the Solarwinds help.

I tried using the the iframe tag as well. The downside of this, is if you email this page as part of a scheduled report and are running Office 2007, Outlook does not support iframes. I have been working with Solarwinds of this for a couple of days now. Christian

I am running RC2 in production with NO issues.

Upgrading from 8.5 to 9, after .net 3.5 installed and rebooted It installed with no issues. When running the configuration wizard I got the following error: "The current user has not be assigned a valid default database. Use SQL Management tools to create a new database, and then assign it as the default database for the…

Hello Josh, I am having the same issue and was able to test WMI access from the Orion server. I was able to Enumerate Classes on the target server with no problems. Any ideas? Thanks,Christian
-
Thanks Casey for the reply. Can we expect this with SP1 or later?
-
I must say this is a very big disappointment! I would have thought that with the vSphere release date and the NPM 9.5 release date being so close together, that we would have had this functionality in 9.5. It seems to me that being a VMware partner, this would have been something planned out better. We are moving all our…

I had the same issue installing SP2, I manually ended the process and if finished without any issues.

Thanks Mark, This is in V9 with Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007. Christian

Hello Dirk, I would like a copy as well. Thanks, Christian christian.hoefle@amwins.com

We are also sending an email to our ticketing system, HelpStar.

I have the same issue, but I went into the Database Manager and changed the Caption line to remove the serial number.

Here is what I do for our Windows servers: 1. Add the Loopback adapter with no interface logs. 2. I create an email alert for when the interface is in a unknown state. When this happens, I just restart the SNMP service.

I have been trying to figure this out for several releases now. You would think they would make this sticky like the smtp settings.

Lucya, Thanks for the post, we are interested in doing the same thing, but I have a couple of questions for you. 1. Where did you add this code? 2. How are you handling authentication for the Insight agents? Thanks again, Christian
