We are a lab so we get to touch all kinds of new stuff. The biggest ones for me personally are AWS, Azure, and GCP. I am working on trying to certify in each, at least at the admin level.

Wow, didn't know this was available. Very cool tool for instant analysis. Thanks!

Sweet! Thanks for the contest!

I just used SRM to show the benefit of adding a pair of all-flash nodes to our NetApp cluster and moving one of our critical apps over. There was an audible "wow" from business owners when I showed them the latency graphs, before and after. It took all of 30 seconds to show them the necessary data to justify the money we…

Here is the captured query text from my version: vm.origin:vmware AND (vm.toolsStatus:toolsNotInstalled OR vm.toolsStatus:toolsNotRunning OR vm.toolsStatus:toolsOld OR vm.toolsVersionStatus:guestToolsBlackListed OR vm.toolsVersionStatus:guestToolsNeedUpgrade OR vm.toolsVersionStatus:guestToolsNotInstalled OR…

Yes.

I would post in the VMAN forums to see if someone has written a query using your version. I would be willing to bet you can find one. Good luck.
-
No. Internal facing only.

If I edit the Notify Slack Action I created to define a user, then press the Test Credentials button, it fails with the same message: Check 'Replace a process level token' account privilege of user which runs Solarwinds Orion Module Engine service. I have done all the steps (as detailed above) to give the user the proper…

They are canned reports in version 6.3.1. You can find them under "Reporting" and searching for "tools".

Just writing to the txt file did not work either.
-
It is not and that seems to be the issue. It is enabled but does not start. I have a case open with VMware as we speak.
-
We have it working. We upgraded to NPM 12.0.1 and VMAN 7.0. I think we ended up restarting all Orion services and got it working again. Good luck.
-
I just checked mine again and it is not working. I guess the VM details are coming from my VMAN installation.

Gave it a shot and the same problem occurs. I click in the password field, start x/y mode, enter the password and click the now active Login button. The record looks perfectly normal, but when I play it back the Login button never becomes active. It is almost like the password field never sees text getting entered.

The reg hack worked perfectly. Thank you!
-
Now this is interesting. How are you adding the vCenter to your configuration? Add Nodes?
-
No routing involved. They are in the same network.
-
Just found it. Recording has to be active to see the button. Thanks. I'll give it a try.
-
Yes, I am on version 12. Are you using Solarwinds VMAN?
-
Thanks for the reply. We ended up installing VMAN and it works great.
-
Thanks! I upvoted it. Seems like an easy feature to add.
-
Tried that and it didn't work. We got this message Check 'Replace a process level token' account privilege of user which runs Solarwinds Orion Module Engine service. We did the following to the user account we are trying to use: - made local admin on Orion box - gave Full Control to curl script directory - made user the…

Perfect! Thank you for the help!

We upgraded and got what we needed. Thanks!

vSphere 6 appliance. I have followed the docs to the letter but snmpd will not start. VMware is working the case. Thanks!
-
Ultimately, my goal is to get Solarwinds to monitor VMware. I was using the X-brick as a test to determine if the issue was with VMware or Solarwinds. I am pointing SW at a VMware 6 appliance and have followed the configuration guide. The community strings match, the appliance is listening for polling on port 161 and I am…

Yeah, this shouldn't be that difficult. I should be able to point it to a log and just look for a keyword. Even Foglight was able to do that. Unfortunate.

We just upgraded to 12.2 and the new function works very well. Thanks!
