ebradford Just drive through NJ - there are no self-serving stations, and if you try to fuel on your own - you'll either get an "evil eye" or out-right yelled at by the attendant. And no, you won't get your hubcaps or windows washed. And that's the reason for young Jersey drivers to be lost the first time they drive…

It'd really be helpful to provide support for the IBM FlashSystem (currently using FS900) and latest DS system (currently on 8700 & 8884) or at least provide some kind of a workaround. !SRM

We've been waiting for SW SPM to cover our 2k+ RHEL/CentOS servers but to no avail. So we are looking at solutions from Syxsense, NinjaRMM, and AWS SSM. All these tools also offer some kind of infrastructure monitoring (granted that it's not as robust as NPM) so I would hate to see the company switch from SW to one of…

Cyber Monday is for amateurs. Every seasoned geek can make any day a Cyber-Mon-Day. In any case, we'll spend ours on building a brand new Solarwinds environment and porting the data over from the Dev environment (that weirdly enough became our Prod somewhere along the way). And then adding additional pollers in DMZ & AWS.…

Even though we can see all Meraki APs via Meraki Cloud Dashboard connection in NPM 12.1, we still can't create Wireless Heat Maps. Meraki Dashboard appears as a controller, but the Thin Access Points cannot be added to WiFi Heat Map. Same goes for Aruba WiFi controller and APs. Furthermore, SSID, Channel, Radio Type info…

This was submitted as a feature request before. Hopefully it will be added to the next SRM update.

Also, I wish there was some kind of "nesting" applied in the Manage Views list. Could really be useful when trying to find the "top" view. Also, having an option to "Copy + Edit" at the same time would save a lot of time when trying to locate the copy of the view that was just duplicated.

We need it big time. Engineering just added DD solution in every location (10+)..

Moving from CheckPoint to PaloAlto.. Did not have much support for CP in Solarwinds, but it'd be great to get some more with PA. Found some PA specific UnDP on Thwack so at least we get the correct model and firmware level. But Insights for PA would be the way to go, especially when a lot of businesses are moving in that…

Our org is quickly migrating away from Windows DHCP and onto Meraki, so it'd be very nice to see IPAM supporting DHCP (at least as view for starters) on the Meraki platform.

It would be extremely useful when creating Sub-views for PROD/DEV/QA environments of the same application/service type. DB Manager approach is not really user "friendly".
-
We have that configured, but I'm looking for a script that would also show affected: cluster & VM(s)

This is what I found by trial and error approach. With our VMAN/VIM purchase, Solarwinds includes Primary and Secondary license. Primary license has be to used on the machine where VIM is installed - your main Orion platform server. Secondary license can be installed on APE - same as any other APE you may have in your…

Just got an answer from the SW Support on the per User CAL requirement. If all end users (including admins) access the NPM via the Web console or built-in Solarwinds DB Manager, then a single User CAL is required.

In my experience the "SQL ALWAYSON" relates to MS SQL 2016 and later AlwaysOn Availability Groups (automatic DB synch between MS SQL servers/clusters). We are in a planning stage for the deployment and our SolarWinds DB and it will be the first in our environment to run in such configuration. What we are trying to achieve…

This one is part of the Additional Downloads section for NPM.

@wlouisharri,sI see you use BIND DNS, what is your DNS system (I'm hoping you'd say Infoblox)?

Since there was no direct link between the two solutions, our company decided to utilize Jupiter-ELK to collect and correlate events, logs, and performance data from various monitoring and ticketing systems. Splunk> solutions would also provide such correlation.

I've reached out to SunbirdDCIM and they are willing to look into it and provide a streamlined solution. Once they do, I'll update this post. in the meantime I'll be working on building UDP that will get the most out of the iPDU and UPS hardware.

I get the requirement for the Device CAL (NPM + each additional polling engine), but the users access the apps running on the NPM server via Web console and the NPM uses single user account to access and modify Solarwinds DB. Why would we need separate accounts for each user accessing the NPM server?
-
At this point we monitor our main MS SQL servers and DBs via DPA which also supports AG (including Solarwinds database). Also, we monitor each SQL server node via Solarwinds Agent, so between the two monitoring types it's fairly easy to tell what is what. We're still on NPM 12.2 & SAM 6.5 so don't have access to the latest…

We don't even use SRM Profiler and never did, and our old Isilon OneFS v. 7.1.1.2 stopped responding after Windows patches were applied on our Solarwinds/SRM server. Support asked to update certificates to SHA256 - time will tell if it helps to resolve the issue. I just tried to add a new Isilon running OneFS v. 8.0.0.6…

In our case, we've worked with our storage vendor on setting up these thresholds. In our case, we have multiple arrays with different hardware configurations: some have 6 FC ports, some have 12 for the same array model and disk type. Another one has different drive types and number of controllers. The way we approached…

In our environment we are not allowed to use/implement anything lower than SNMP v3 in production due to security concerns (DEV/QA is ok), so monitoring our Prod AS/400 via SNMP is not possible. Any other suggestions?

Same issue here with installing KSS 9.6.3 on 2012.. Found this article on MS TechNet https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/askpfeplat/2014/09/29/attempting-to-install-net-framework-3-5-on-windows-server-2012… , but have not any luck on installing .Net 3.5, hence no luck installing KSS 9.6.3. And we already purchased the…

Similar dilemma, only in our case we are migrating entire environment to the new virtual HW in another location. Just wondering if this could be of use.

also, try logging into the HMC web interface first (https://ds8xxx-IP) to check which port SMI-S is listening on as it will automatically show up. In our case it is 8452 on DS8884. The standard ports listed for SMI-S are 5989/5988 which are not active. In our case we still chasing IBM support as the user that was created…
