awsl - can you please post the output of "netstat -a -b -n"? *Edit Notice: command change (removed -p udp) Thanks, Greg

Jason, on the 32bit box, try running the Bandwidth Gauges from the Start menu once, if anything did not get registered, that will do it. Then try launching from the browser (make sure ActiveX is allow in that zone, and you have rights to the Folder where toolset is installed). Also, you might try turning UAC off. If that…

Hey Ron - Thanks for the files and the heads up. We have located the issue and it should be fixed in a future release. --Greg

It means the switch port mapper was not able to find any IP addresses for those MACs in the ARP table of the device specified to be the source for layer 3 info. HTH, Greg
-
Paul - support has contacted me and given me a the capture you sent in... Can you post the result of a download of the sysTable? It seems that the server is returning "NoSuchName" when we ask for the SysObjectID... SNMPv2-MIB:system OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.1 Thanks, Greg

Dear itnetworkteam - The Toolset is licensed per machine, so you must purchase a license for every machine you want to run it on. You could install the Toolset on those machines which do no have a license, and let the evaluation mode expire to "Freeware Mode", and that would give you CPU and Bandwidth Gauges... HTH, Greg

Shauns - Please contact our customer support. They can work you through the licensing issue. --Greg
-
d-moore - Our great QA folks have been re-testing the issue, and one was able to recreate a conflict which you might be experiencing. If you are getting an error when opening System Manager, try the following: * Open a command prompt * navigate to %program files%\SolarWinds\Common (usually C:\program files\...) * run the…

Kris - Go ahead and create a ticket so you will be notified when we get a fix (or instructions to get one from MS) released. Thanks, Greg

Hi Jamieson - thanks for the response. [Greg: You can use the View Menu to get the Gadgets and External Tools groups back; although they might be collasped to tabs on the side of the application.] [Jamieson:] When I click on any option in the View Menu the only left side tab that I get is devices. None of the other…

In regards to SNMPv3 and MAC's on the non-default VLAN, please see this post. In regards to "This device does not support the Bridge-MIB" message, this can be caused by many things. If you are getting the error using SNMPv3 (on a Cisco switch), see this post. If you are getting the error via SNMPv1/2c, should take a look…

Chris - are you using the Workspace Studio SwitchPortMapper, or the classic version? Thanks, Greg
-
eperrell - I am sorry you are having so many issues running SNMPv3... I know it is working for thousands of other users as well as myself. We test extensively on device connectivity as that is the product's main functionality. I am curious, do you have another suite of SNMP tools that does work correctly for you? Have you…

Haole - Thanks for the responses... Not sure if I understand all of answer #1, but The Workspace Studio version of Switch Port Mapper currently (V10.4) exports to CSV, XML, and HTML... I did respond in the mentioned thread regarding the missing IP's, let do a Goto if possible and have a look-see. --Greg

Hey Jon - what happens when you click Help -> Check for updates? We only check for updates every so often, and it might take a moment for the gadget to show up... --Greg

Actually - that is an old spec (which I will get fixed), the Toolset has been testeds and does support Windows 2008. Can you contact support so we can get a look at why your license cannot be seen on the other profile. Thanks, Greg
-
Roger - Is it returning different ports for each mac or the same port multiple times? Do those ports resolve to the same interface or different physical interfaces? Thanks, Greg
-
Hari - a couple of things jump out at me here... Can you CLI TFTP a config file from the target device on the private network back through the VPN? Is UDP port 69 open on the TFTP server machine? Does the machine your are trying to get a config off have a route to the VPN network? --Greg

We agree that a batch unmanage feature would be helpful, and are placing the feature on our Toolset Roadmap. Thanks for the feedback, Greg

For highly meshed networks, the best way to run a Neighbor map is a targeted search and a small number of hops. I would start with the address of a single device (that you know has CDP or LLDP enabled), and go out one hop. HTH, Greg
-
Good point Andy - I also wanted to add that you can save this gadget configuration to a tab or the toolbar, and never have to type the device info again, just double click to bring up the saved tab, or click on the Toolbar, and the gadget will show up with all the device information already entered. Then, if you wanted to…

Actually, we have a file in which we keep track of all the SysobjectIDs, and it has either not been updated with the newer OIDs, or you have an older copy. Can you post the SysObject IDs (and the device description) for the devices in question? Get the value at: SNMPv2-MIB:sysObjectID OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2 We'll see what we…

Actually - My colleague is confused, SNMP set is a product of ours... Sometimes the SNMP version can be the culprit, have your tried setting "Disable SNMPv2 requests" to checked? Also, make sure you enter the device information in the "select device" area before choose the SNMP set dialog. If those don't get you going,…

bmcmaster - not in the workspace studio. You should be able to use the SNMP real time graph in the classic tools. HTH, Greg
-
dclick - SPM does collect the MAC of the switch interface, you just need to set it to view that column in the settings dialog (set it once, it will do it forever.) File -> Settings -> Results Tab -> Select 'MAC Address of the switch port' and click the right arrow to add it the right hand column. *And VLAN description…

We are currently looking in to this. Would you mind trying Network Performance Monitor to see if Email alerts are functioning correctly there? Thanks, Greg
-
The problem is not with the refresh of the Gauge... Most CPU MIBs are a 1 or 5 minute average, and most agents will refresh these values no less than every 5 seconds. HTH, Greg
-
Dingo_Rock - Nope, as these are counter variables, the previous value is subtracted from the current value and the delta is used in the calculation. HTH, Greg
-
Hey Leonard - Can I get some more information regarding the steps to get this to occur? After selecting "upload config", are you selecting "entire config" or "selected text"? When prompted, are you selecting "merge with currently running config" or "overwrite Startup..." When re-downloading to verify, what config are you…

This is almost always caused by some element of browser security, whether it is the trusted zone, allowing ActiveX controls, not having enough rights to install the ActiveX control, or some third party security software not allowing the ActiveX to execute. Can you post some specifics about what OS/Browser, running as…
