Frank - you can use the Workspace Studio's MACFinder gadget in the Engineer's Toolset to query all your access switches at the same time, then once it is found, right mouse click on the interface and disable it, or you could use our LanSurveyor product and add the Wireless MAC as a MAC address you never want on the…

cvonhassel - that is kind of unusual. Try this, when adding the node, click 'Discover Credential' and see what occurs. This will attempt to validate one of the stored credentials. --Greg

ceclark, The scheduled jobs are completely asynchronous. You will want to schedule the jobs with enough time between them to allow the first to complete, if you do not want the traffic to overlap. HTH, Greg

Engineer - It could be that the default name for the file transfer might not be acceptable to your device. In the Download Config Dialog, we use a macro for the filename, "c:\TFTPRoot\%SysName%.CiscoConfig". Could you try changing that to something simpler like: "C:\TFTPRoot\testcfg.txt"? HTH, Greg

Network.IT - The Engineer's Toolset is not meant to be a full scale Enterprise class NMS (like our Orion product), so we are able to use an MS-Jet back end to keep engineering costs down, which then allows us to offer it at a great price. The Toolset is meant to be a Network Engineer's swiss army knife; a large collection…

akita29 - I am not clear as to where you are getting latency in Switch Port Mapper, can you please clarify? --Greg
-
TikTok86 - Can you tell me what version Toolset/TFTP, and the OS of the machine running the TFTP server? Thanks, Greg
-
Alterego - I have never heard of this issue. I just ran a quick test on v10.1 and no file locks were encountered, I could edit and save without issue. I will test on 10.0, in the meantime, can you give 10.1 a try? Thanks, Greg
-
NewGlide - Are you saying that the VLAN interfaces with an assigned IP have no MACs found on them? Are you using the Workspace Studio version of the SwitchPortMapper? --Greg
-
Goose - Can you collect and email the diagnostics? Nav to the Toolset installation folder (usually %Program Files%\SolarWinds\Toolset) and run the file: SWToolsetDiagnostics.exe. If it is too large, PM me and I will give you an upload link. Thanks, Greg
-
bobmangm - This looks like the TFTP service won't stop, is that correct? Does a reboot help? You mentioned that the Toolset is not installed? Is this the Free TFTP? --Greg

Hi Marcus - I think what you are looking for is the ability to delay the "alert action", vs increasing the polling interval. Unfortunately, Toolset NPM does not enable delayed alert actions, but it is a feature of Orion. HTH, Greg
-
Hi Dogie - the Toolset only allows you to download configs one at a time, but Orion NCM can do all kinds of automated download, change detection, inventory, etc... Check it out here. HTH, Greg
-
VT77 - there currently is no way to import nodes into the Enhanced Ping application, but you can import into the Workspace Studio, then use the response time gadgets to monitor response time. HTH, Greg
-
Hi dclick - we currently have some tools that will automate downloading and uploading configs (Toolset for Cisco only, NCM for a boatload of other devices types), but nothing that does ACL creation or analysis. Of course, you could use NCM's Policy Report to look for holes or ensure a certain ruleset was present. We have…

cmlunsford - Here is what you need to do: Navigate to your installation folder; usually <program files>\solarwinds\Engineer's Tooset. Then run this command line: installutil /u "solarwinds tftp server.exe" Reboot Nav to same folder and run: installutil "solarwinds tftp server.exe" Should work fine after that. HTH, Greg

Riyaz - Since the Toolset is meant to be a real-time diagnostic / troubleshooting tool, there are currently no plans to move the Toolset to the web. We do however do the web in our monitoring and configuration products like Orion, NCM, APM, NetFlow, and EOC, and you can launch your favorite Toolset tools from all of these…
-
Stefania - You mentioned that the drive was cloned... Have you re-installed / repaired Toolset 9.2? HTH, Greg
-
Jason - If I understand you correctly, you are trying to run the bandwidth gauge on a 64bit machine? Currently the Engineer's Toolset does not support 64bit OSes, but that will change with the next release. HTH, Greg
-
Ericn84 - When the MIB Browser returns "unsupported", that means that the device returned a "No such name" error code when it was asked for the OID. You can validate that with a sniffer fairly easily. HTH, Greg
-
RMaxam - Can you send me a packet capture of the SNMP traffic between the PC and switch during the port map? I have not heard of anything like this in 10.5... Thanks, Greg
-
paulroth - what do you mean by "not showing up"? Are they just showing up as IP Addresses? We need SNMP access to the devices to retrieve information from it. Is SNMP configured on these devices? Have you entered correct community strings in the IP Network Browser settings? --Greg
-
Etucker - there sure is, open the SNMP MIB Browser, Select your target device, then click Tools->SNMP set. HTH, Greg
-
DClick - We are looking to add some new wireless troubleshooting utilities to the Toolset, but the hardcore wireless specific monitoring functionality will be done in (you guessed it) Orion. What sort of utilities would help you manage / troubleshoot your growing wireless network? Thanks, Greg
-
Guy - have you tried the SwitchPortMapper in the SolarWinds Real-Time Dashboard? It's free (on Technical Preview) and it supports more bridge MIBs. You can download a free copy here HTH, Greg
-
HCL - you're not being dim, there is no way to add external applications to the Launcher application. There is however, a way to add external application links to the Workspace Studio. In the External Tools tree, select the "Create a new shortcut..." link. HTH, Greg
-
Brian, 1. Sorting, not right at the moment, but it's on the map. 2. SSH Fallback - Not a the moment, but it's a great idea. 3. Node Monitoring - If you already have Orion, you can turn the node monitoring off. Node monitoring can slow down the application on large installations, and that why we put the warning up. 4. If we…
-
culverjac - Unfortunately, IP Network Browser does not grab the chassis serial number, but you can use our Orion NCM (aka Cirrus) product to collect that information. HTH, Greg
-
ScubaBubbles - there should be nothing extra you need to do to run it. Are you running as an admin on the system? Have you tried repairing the Toolset install? You might also try upgrading to the latest version (10.2 as of this writing). If all of these still do not get it going, PM me and we'll see what we can do. HTH,…

Jp - I have never heard of this occurring. The settings are written to a file in the TFTP server installation folder (usually <Program Files>\Solarwinds\Engineer's Toolset) named TFTPSettings.xml. Make sure your user account has access to that file. HTH, Greg
