Subscribing to this one. 6 years and counting, jesus storage is a pain in the behind to monitor when you have so many models and vendors

first timer, quietly observing the cult of swug, thoroughly enjoyed it! As a deployer/upkeeper/troubleshooter/guardian of solarwinds in multiple organisations, it is interesting to see how the sausage is made, and what the meat constitutes of!

sql hotels that hold dbs for multiple applications... perfect use case..

Looks good so far!

Experienceing this now rolling up from 2020.2.6 to 2023.x latest. Linux agents need to be manually restarted then the job engine or something tries to update the agent again, then it stops then you need to manually login again. How do i tell platform to stop updating the agents!

I have the exact same query, what was the chances of finding my request from a post created in recent times. I wanted to remove the alerts part from a custom tile, and am running 2019.2 HF3, and do not have status summary anywhere.

That’s a very good point and one I didn’t consider. I think api calls would be a lot lighter on the poller which is near capacity and writing to a db across a mpls link in two rather sparse distances. Looks like it’s time to spreadsheet an export of all the network nodes and attack it in batches. Many thanks for the…

Yikes indeed! That is looking like the way forward... and then in the discovery process it doesn’t give you an output of what connection profiles were applied to the node! I wish that was easier to see to see how successful it was matching cli credentials to nodes. Always get the fun ones!! Get Outlook for iOS

Hey wluther! the netpath map itself with all its hops, as displayed under netpaths. Seems like an omission for technical reasons. Also if you work out how to have a perfstack graph displayed in a noc view that refreshes every 1 min like every other widget.. do let me know!

Hey SJA, Good question. Not implemented, local creds only. Wheels are in motion to change this but this is quite a large site with production sensitive equipment and a network guy whos working 27 hours a day to keep the lights on.
-
Finally it’s not documented anywhere a grid of sorts of what device match what credentials on what protocol with enable or no enable. Setting the credentials on auto test as part of a discovery has not worked and credentials have not assigned as part of the network discovery. Finally if you have ever tried editing say…

Hey will, appreciate your precious time in taking a moment to suggest some ideas. So we have 4 main admin accounts with a combination of ssh and telnet. So 16 combinations per device In effect. Plus enable or no enable.. Not one person knows which credential is the correct one but more to the point of the protocol being…

Im getting the same on one server, highest level of permissions available for the polling account, Polls the device fine but with testing a new application monitor against some services on the machine, it says Unable to connect to "XXX" for WMI access. Unable to connect to server "XXX" as user " WMI works fine! Windows…

Worked Beautifully thanks very much!

Hi all! So I took a little advice from a everybody here and built out the 16 profiles for the combination of the credentials, protocol and enable. Then managed to pry the networking guys into spread sheeting down potential credentials. Then assigned a custom field with a profile number (1-16) and updated that field. After…

having the same issue, .net are the same versions across the main poller and the additional. Cant edit nodes. Updates look consistant over the two servers as well. help!

Looking at monitoring using the 365 templates (mail statistics, licensing, user stats etc) I have not found a way to make this work with MFA.

Being able to implement any view into the NOC would make things so much easier, especially with Application health charts. Crudely I embed the graph into our NOC with custom html and it looks like crap but does the job
-
Any way to embed (other then in HTML) netpath into a NOC?
-
Same Question - Embedding this into a NOC view, graph not only resolves to 7 days, but also tends to go stale and stay at the same time period and doesn't refresh like the other frames do...
