Not sure what you mean Andy. Can Orion access more than 4GB RAM or not? I always understood that the 32 bit OS meant that there would only be at most 4 GB RAM available for all things running on the machine. Correct?

Yet another question, please. The syslog viewer help guide states that one should be able to clear the messages from the viewer by clicking on the "X" next to the message. There are no "X" es in my viewer? What's up?
-
That is what I thought was the case. So, does that mean that each poller collects data for a specific data type such as CPU Load or some other SNMP data?
-
Andy?

Brandon, any update on how an updated MIB would effect custom pollers? Would the new MIB supplant a custom poller already built on the same OID?

Hmmm. I have no path Inetpub\Solarwinds\Orion\Nodes\Controls\NodeTree.ascx. I have the following: Inetpub\Solarwinds\Orion\Controls. But, I also do not see the NodeTree.ascx file in this location. I find NodeTree.ascx in the following location: Inetpub\Solarwinds\Orion\NetperfMon\Resources\NodeSummary. The file does not…

dperdue, This is perhaps a little off topic, but can we not test the SQL database connection using APM? If so, which monitor or application specifically would be used? Thanks.

Brandon, Re-installing and applying SP1 seems to have ficed it again, but the question is will it remained fixed:) I tested again using my advanced node down alert. The alert eval frequency is set to 1 minute. I took down a node manually. I got two emails 2 minutes apart. Will I continue to get emails 1 or 2 minutes apart…

Yeah, I thought that was what a notification is now callled. And I am guessing the a member is called a monitor. Correct?
-
Thanks, Andy. I will do that if necessary. By the way, I can see by the ip route cache flow command on the router that it is set up to send NF data to the Orion server, and I can see the various NF stats. So, we are wondering if the packets are getting dropped somewhere on the network before getting to Orion. Right now, I…

Thank you Marie, but can you suggest the filter syntax that will do this? What variable will correctly designate the custom poller?
-
Anyone?
-
David? Is this a matter of setting up DNS correctly on my network rather than a problem with NetFlow?
-
Thanks for the info. So, it sounds like the most you can do is delay the next alert by adjusting the "delay betweeen" setting. You cannot actually suppress the alert and prevent it from firing altogether, right?
-
I would like more details on this as well if you can provide it.

Well, Denny this is going to sound crazy, but things seem to be working now. Both the AJAX node tree resource and the map remove nodes that are not "allowed" by the account limitation. I suppose that is the way it works now, rather than the old way of showing the nodes and yielding an error screen if the user clicks on a…

Update: I found out how to use the Advanced Schedule Options. I set the Task frequency to 4 hours and set the Duration to 23 hours and 59 minutes. The result is that that task repeats once a day and the task itself then consists of running the batch file every four hours. The method is quirky and could have been designed…

Elizabeth, please check me on my original statement though. It is true, is it not, that one must purchase additional modules for each application that you want an additional poller to be able to run, correct?
-
Answered that question. I ran the Config Wizard and repaired the Services. Now the Upload Entire Config option is available. But, I don't see the Create Upload Script and Execute Command Script commands. Where are they? The procedure referenced in the Admin guide makes it appear that those two commands are a part of the…

Oh, and I determined that we are actually using VMWare ESX Server 3i. Should that work?
-
Yes, I am talking about grouping in MapMAker, bot on the web. Anyone know how to do this?
-
So, how does VoIP Monitor deal with Avaya Call Managers versus Cisco Call Managers?
-
David?

OK, so Rediscovery updates any information about known data fields for any node in the database, correct? But it does not DETECT if a new node is added to the network, right?
-
Thanks for the reposnses, but what I was really asking is if anyone has seen any alert functionality problems arising from this value being set at zero. Anyone?
-
Is it possible that custom pollers could be used to track the assignment of the clustered volumes at any point in time?
-
One wonders if the solution will be to delete all the left over expired IPs with a SQL query via the Database Manager.

I am pretty sure the Readme came from a version 10 trial that I downloaded.
