Rob - Is it still not possible to add new, non-HTTP apps to QoE? We want to add NetApp SnapMirror: https://library.netapp.com/ecmdocs/ECMP1368826/html/GUID-E10A0EDD-E999-454E-8115-95EA1F377C84.html I can send a pcap, but it's an easy protocol. =seymour=

Yes, we're at SP4. Not a browser problem - it even shows up in scheduled reports sometimes. It's intermittent, as well. I must say, I am seeing it less on my own accounts. Haven't been able to replicate it since I actually tried to edit a page. That, too, could be a coincidence.

Michal - That filter should be "Subnet.CIDR < 30". For Scopes, it's "Scope.CIDR < 30". I use 29, because of a few HSRP uplinks. Just for the sake of documentation, where is that Hide option? Do you mean disabling the Alert, "Alert me when there is a IP Address Conflict based on MAC address." in Advanced Alerts? =seymour=

I believe that owner and the operation numbers are how VNQM identifies what operations that it added, and which are manual. Several times, I've had to delete all operations via the CLI and delete all operations in VNQM in order to start fresh. When adding manual operations, for the operation number, I use a long string…

It was the Application Aware Performance Monitoring. Brad said there were some technical issues. I watched it after the fact, and made a list of questions to pursue. I find it very hard to find the actual videos from the Thwack Community Events, Webcasts & Training…

Thanks for the followup! We have been getting web pages for most devices, though a a few display the HTML titles, but no data, which I think is a different problem. =Foonly=

What version of NTA are you running? From what I can tell, you are seeing what I used to see before we upgraded from NTA 4.1.1 to NTA 4.2. We are now running 4.2.1 with 4.2.1 HotFix3. Note that HotFixes are specific to the version. The alerts I received now are a PDF attachment, and not HTML. They do not have graphs.…

The Buddy Drop that SolarWinds support sent me took care of the non-text enteris I saw in NodeCiscoCdpEntries, and fixed the auto-mapping of our Nexus Cores.
-
Still happens even with run as administrator.

Thanks, netlogix! I found swdebugMaintenance.log on my W2K3 system in: C:\Documents and Settings\All users\Application Data\Solarwinds\Logs\Orion\swdebugMaintenance.log Still haven't found NetPerfMon-Maint-'DATE'.log since the upgrade to 10.2.2. It was last seen in: c:\Program Files\Solarwinds\Orion So it must have moved,…

Pratik - I think VNQM makes different database entries for operations that are Autoconfigured vs those that are discovered. There's no easy way for me to find out, I would have to look at individual tables, and reverse engineer it, I think. So that's why I recommend that you delete the operation from VNQM, and then…

The only documentation that I've seen is in the Help in ScpServerTray.exe systray app, which points to: C:/Program%20Files%20%28x86%29/SolarWinds/SftpServer/Help/SCPServer.htm It automatically creates and stores keys. I've poked around the registry and the executable directory. and haven't found much. =seymour=

What all is included in your FTD backups via NCM? We've been told that CLI based backups do not get the actual config.

I vote this Best Post Ever.

Is this a serious enough issue that the DPA Setup should detect the presence of Orion modules on the DPA server? Beyond the requirements for install, what is the actual footprint of DPA in terms of IOs, CPU, and memory, for say, analyzing the Orion database itself? Is using DPA to analyze Orion's DB a useful thing?

Thanks so much! I never noticed that column before! I suspect that Out-of-the-box Type was added sometime in a past version. The old, duplicate alerts appear to be Out-of-the-box, because their actions use things like generic email addresses. So I'll be doing a careful cleanup. =Foon=

Thanks, that was sorta more helpful. Being a GitN00b, I could find no way to download them. Right clicking the link, and doing a save as saves the HTML, which produces colorful red errors like: PS C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\Modules> Import-Module .\PowerOrion.psd1 Import-Module : The module manifest…

For things like this, I usually try a couple of additional steps: 1. Restart all Orion services via the OrionServiceManager, and retest 2. If step 1 doesn't work, re-run the Config Wizard The idea is that some settings are only checked when services start, and other settings may depend on the Wizard. Finally, if all else…

Here's how I set mine - I believe this is the default way the installer normally leaves it:

I'd like to bump this. We are still operating under the OMB schedule proposed in http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/omb/assets/egov_docs/transition-to-ipv6.pdf We're moving toward a September 30, 2014 IPv6 infrastructure deadline in our federal bureau. =seymour=

The KB article leaves a lot to be desired. I ran Microsoft's Sysinternals tool, ProcExp.exe (process explorer), and did not find the olelib.tlb open. So I rebooted, and restarted the install, and it ran fine after that.
-
Sorry to wake up an old thread, but this is still not working very well on V4.2. The res_sample_structure.xls that downloads from the link on the import page appears to be the same as Michal's post above. But so does the res_sample_ipaddress.xls - the files have identical content. The original files under…

Doh! Over the weekend, the bug is back on one of our Orion installs, but not on the other two. The fact that it ran for several days must mean something. =Foon=

This is still a problem in NPM 12.3. NPM knows the IP of the secondary, but the HA feature cannot tell that the secondary is already monitored.
-
I would like this feature as well. Plus, I would like it to export everything that import can import. That way we can update many settings much more easily than with the Web page. =foon=

Did not work for me. I ended up having to reinstall NCM 7.4.
-
This did not work for us. When I look at the history of many of the IP's, I often never see a real IP and MAC. I only see the 00-00-00-00-00-00, and the status is set to Used, and the Source for Update is Subnet Neighbor Scan or Neighbor Scan. Elsewhere in Thwack, people have said that this results from an ARP timeout. ARP…

That fixed it for me, Craig - no elevated, and the Cisco WLC template.

I ended up uninstalling all SolarWinds modules, rebooted, and installed again. I suspect the 1st failed install, where I accidentally took the default for the database name instead of specifying our existing DB for NPM and only installed NPM, is what got something unglued. After that install, I only uninstalled NPM. and…

Our reports already had a save of a local copy, and we use the Admin user. But we still see the login page in the PDF after upgrading to NPM 12.1 on 2 out of 3 servers. On one server, re-running the Config Wizard or rebooting the server (we did both) fixed the problem. But the other one stubbornly refuses to yield to our…
