To confirm, I opened a case with SolarWinds, and sent them sniffer dumps. I learned from them about C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Orion\NetPath\NetPathAgent.cfg and I experimented and changed "SendResetPerRoundStandard": to true. It is normally false.as I noted in my post obove, dated Sep 30, 2016 5:43 PM. I cannot say that I…

The last device.

It does appear to be related to LACP on the Orion probe server. Our switch chassis is set: # show port-channel load-balance System config: Non-IP: src-dst mac IP: src-dst ip rotate 0 I tried killing one ethernet port of the LACP port channel of a different probe server, and it made no difference. A probe server connected…

I kinda agree that it has to be something between Orion and the destination. No load balancers or proxy servers involved - just an ASA with no NAT between our sites on an internal (not internet) MPLS WAN. We have 3 different Orion installs at different WAN sites with different local topologies. We do use LACP to connect…

We have similar issues with full write access to DCs. We would happily sacrifice some functionality if we can avoid at least some kinds of write access, if not all. =Foon=

But there's 2 problems if we actually want the alert: 1. The alerts do not show the device name - they show Switch X, where X is the switch member of the stack. The alert should show both the device name and the switch member number. 2. Often, the values reported are incorrect. Either the wrong OID is polled by NPM, or the…

I agree. So I'm gonna add a feature request to allow customization and manipulation of IPAM events.

mesverrum - The new macro results in the same web page as your method, without having to edit the name of the server. =Foon=
-
stibi - I made a typo when entering the macro. It does indeed work! . The PDF is automatically attached to the email - nothing needs to be done besides entering the recipients, subject, macro, and email server. For subject, we use: High RCV Util - Top Talkers - ${Interface.InPercentUtil}% ${N=SwisEntity;M=FullName} Thanks…

stibi - It's odd that this change was not mentioned in the Release Notes. I think it's an excellent change in theory. I'm now waiting for it to fire to see how it is in execution. The Administrators Guide is still waiting for the broken section on page 109 to get fixed as of this moment. =Foonly=

mesverrum - I agree about storing passwords. Developers have obviously worked on this a lot over the years. I remember when the username and password appeared in the alert the users received. We began to use DirectLink for that, and then disabled as many rights on DirectLink as possible. We have mandatory periodic password…

I'm just assuming DHCPv6 is not supported, and so I put in the enhancement request. In the mean time, if it is NOT supported, I think customers would appreciate the datasheet saying so. The IPAM team has been pretty good at following up on other requests - they added pulling neighbor tables from devices whose SNMP MIBs…

After going through a few upgrades, our Top Talker alerts stopped working. One of the things I found was that the Configuration Wizard had added a 2nd WebSiteID (actually, WebsiteID 3), without the FQDN, but with IP and port 443, SSLEnabled=0, Type: primary. The original row had website id 2, the server name with FQDN, IP,…

What's dying is the systray app, C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\SftpServerScpServerTray.exe. The server exe is C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\SftpServer\SolarWindsSftpServer.exe. It will stay running even it the tray app dies. You can start the WIndows Services console, services.msc, and set the SolarWinds SFTP/SCP…

I verified that we did indeed install SolarWinds-Orion-NTA-v4.2.0-HF2.exe - which includes HotFix2. In addition, we do not see the NTA service stopping at all when not shut down manually. Thanks for trying, though. =Foonly=

I did not, because the description said: * This hotfix addresses an issue where the SolarWinds NetFlow Storage Service freezes, it is unresponsive and cannot be stopped or restarted via service manager. I don't have that symptom, so I didn't install the hotfix.

It definitely does not rediscover config changes. If you make a change to the device, you have to rediscover manually. You then have to confirm to accept the changes. From what I can tell, Cisco has made many changes to IP SLA on different platforms and different versions of IOS. The differences are not well documented.…

I have made comments on a somewhat related post: IPAM - Scope 100% used with all Zero MACs My problem with Transients that never had a valid MAC or IP in history has disappeared since i set Transient Duration to the minimum of .25 days, and let it clean itself out.

This did not work properly under NCM 7.6 with an AP9631 card v6.2.1 that uses the proper SystemOID. It will pass the connection test on the Edit Node/Edit Properties page for the device. But when downloading the running config, I get Connectivity issues, discarding configuration An inspection of the template shows that it…

For those of you on current versions on NCM (I'm on 7.1.1), the DeviceType access works differently now. You can no longer create Device Types from the NCM GUI. You must use the web console. The web console functionality does not parallel the old GUI, feature for feature.

Unfortunately, that thread has no answer, either.

I've wondered this myself. On the Edit E-mail Web Page Action dialog, there's a helpful looking link that says "How can I create a dynamic URL?" Unfortunately, clicking it leads to a generic help web page, http://www.solarwinds.com/NetPerfMon/SolarWinds/wwhelp/wwhimpl/js/html/wwhelp.htm . Searching the Index or general…

@neomatrix1217 The doc at referenced link says "This PDF is no longer being maintained."

For future users, I'm wondering if there is a way you could have done this all via the IPAM database. Either copy the IPAM SQL DB to the new NPM server (backup/restore), or when you do the NPM install, point it at the IPAM server's SQL instance. What I'd like to see in IPAM is snapshot-like granularity in export and…

I notice that Nexus 7009 experiences problems with bias sensors after upgrade to NX-OS 7.2 and continues on 7.3. If you select CISCO-ENVMON-MIB in the Device Properties page for the switch, this effectively removes ALL sensors, because the NX7K does not support the CISCO-ENVMON-MIB according to:…

I recently opened a TAC case on this for our 3850s. They referred me to the Cisco Feature Navigator which shows that NBAR is not supported. The Cisco Feature Navigator archive shows only Feature ID 29027: Easy QOS: NBAR attributes based QOS, which is part of the AVC (Application Visibility and Control) feature. Even though…

@"[Deleted User]" - What did you ever find out on this? Can you share your NetFlow setup for 9300? =foonly=

@tony.johnson That makes a lot more sense, Tony. Thanks for clearing that up. =seymour=

"As of the 2020.2 release, we've increased the maximum load that can be placed on a properly resourced NPM instance by 250%" However, I do not see any change in POLLING RATE on the Admin> Details> Polling Engines page. So does this mean my guitar amplifier now goes past 11 all the way to 25?

It's freeware. PuTTY itself is open source under the MIT license, and I believe Solar-PuTTY the based it on that source.
