I convinced management to allow us to use Orion for our "metrics presentation" to the executives. But I can't because it refreshes many times in the middle of the presentation. All the data is there, but I still have to use a stupid excel graph... Time wasted and a bit embarrassing...

A feature like this can help take NCM to the next level. Vendor compatability being the hard part I would think. If there was ACL compare ability, such as we have multiple outside routers with "the same" ACL on all, it would help alot.

My team chose default vmware tools because this feature was not available. PLEASE add this and I can push to buy this product!!!

I'm curious, if there are only 33 votes so far, what do people do? How do you see all your events? Or do you only watch for alerts? We use events to help correlate, but we MUST flter some of these due to too much clutter... How do you view your events?

Perfect example today: They need an inventory of all zero clients on the network. I failed....

For an enterprise installation with many other modules the ability to spread the work is necessary. Our core system is a 32 CPU 32Gb server that works hard to keep up. ALL modules need to be able to use ALL Orion resources.

Heres another one: 

Today IPAM can discover the subnets. But I agree the ability to see the layer 3 swithes and pull descriptions would be awesome, although maybe a bit difficult. Now the third one is one that I am about to create a feature for. Imported subnets should automatically populate under the supernet that they would belong to based…

jbiggley GREAT idea, the potential is endless. Also, I think the ability to alert on a netpath status would be helpful. A resource with all your paths in mini form for a summary dashboard and then the alerting for when one is in distress....

I agree, Gartner is a limited scope review. But, if this data is used with the other "reviews" out there, along with customer interviews, then you can get a decent view of the quality of the product.

developing for the enterprise will only help the small and medium size installions as well....

I agree, we have systems that should only be run M - F 8 to 5 and some funky times as well. A scheduler would be a great thing to have
