Will this alerting engine incorporate the syslog/trap alerting engine? (fingers crossed)

We will be testing Remedy integration via email and/or syslogs this week. As we get closer to replacing Tivoli, this is one of our major hurdles. Tivoli took hiring a consultant for about 30k to get the integration working, I would like to get Orion working for $0.... This will just add to the value!!

This is HUGE for us. We NEED to be able to treat traps the same way we treat events. I need them to show in the event log when they are associated with an alert. We recieve traps from many element managers. I need to use advanced alet manager to set an alert that will show in my filtered events. Tivoli did it well, but now…

totally agree!

We are in a datacenter transition, but here is an example of one of our rack rows:

This is a feature that we thought would really help us when we started looking at the NCM.. After some time we found the IP lookup feature almost useless due to our 960 devices that it reports back on. We recently turned to a product called LOCATE by Etelemetry. Quick and easy lookup with history. I wish this feature was…

I TOTALLY understand you on this.... We have to test everything before we do it AND they prefer and almost require zero down time for Orion (but with little money). So we came up with a cheaper solution (still not funded....). We will have to buy licenses in duplicate (cost becomes excessive, especially maintenance on a…

I can tell you what we have, and had.... At one point we had NPM, NCM, and NTA on a single server using a SAN based shared SQL server. The Orion server was a 32 CPU 32Gb system. Things ran VERY well, except a little slow on the SQL side. We also currently have a Development system that has 4 CPU (VMWare), 8Gb Ram running…

Suggestion: IPAM periodically checks the routing table of a designated router and adds and subnets that it doesn't have. Ensuring no subnets are not monitored. One issue we have is that we need the IPAM tool to watch the network for any new subnets. Design teams tend to forget ALOT and we need somthing automated.…

SolarWinds VoIP and Network Quality Manager 4.2.2 Hotfix 2 ---------------------------------------------------------- This hotfix fixes the following issues: 1. SNMP timeout issues affecting SNMP polling. 2. AXL MSMQ pile up. 3. Phones appear as unlicensed even if an SLAX license is used. 4. Issue with additional poller…

I am having a similar issue. I opened a ticket and dev is now looking at the issue. There is a hotfix that "should" take care of it, so look at your portal to see if you installed all the hotfixes.

I just had awesome support from Joe Hanly. He sent me step by step instructions on how to take care of a server migration and even brought up some possible issues along the way. He was great!! My issue with Solarwinds support is just that we NEED weekend support, and maybe faster support for urgent issues. I understand the…

1. These designs are MUCH more useful. 2. The loading of web pages can be slow, so a hover is quick and if it provides enough data can be all we need for a quick resolution. 3. Actions: Manage the device or app, tools integration (customizable), 4. to expand the hover to all details, components or Undp's, etc. 5. icons…

I had a similar issue about a year ago. It was related to OneLogin.

Is there a limit to how many sensors you can have? My understanding is that there may be a cost to the sensors. Is this true? any estimates? I plan to deploy about 40 sensors if I can afford it and another 100 soon after depending on the price...

I created a monitor for workflows in Sharepoint 2007. http://thwack.solarwinds.com/docs/DOC-169021 2010 is a bit harder since there are no instances in the Windows Workflow Foundation of that newer version. Looking for a way around that....

This URL will show what is coming: What are we working on post VNQM v4.2 (Updated April 2, 2015) mrs.alterego Aug 16, 2016 4:08 PM (in response to designerfx) The long and short is when the engineering team is in a place where they need customer feedback, that is when we release a beta. If there’s no beta yet available, it…

We are using it in our Development environment awaiting change control permission to upgrade production. But so far we have positive feedback. looking forward to getting it in production.

I used to work with a company that was looking at cloudgenix. wish i I could help.

Did you create a feature request (Idea) for this?
-
This is something we are intrested in as well. Long term reporting is needed at a low cost. To keep Orion running well you cant keep too much detail data. We keep 90 days but for reporting purposes we have requests to move that to two years. Impossible with the current DB. BUT, if we could export daily stats and just keep…

I have a need to monitor the interfaces on a McData (Brocade) 6140. NOC needs info such as unused ports, zones, etc.... SNMP provides very little in 10.2.2

Support over the weekend is an absolute must! I can't push my replacement of IBM Tivoli any further with my company when there is no support over Saturday and Sunday. Companies that are 24/7/365 like us MUST have access to support 24/7/365.

This would be very helpful. We will have over 1000 lite aps in the next month....

Sometimes if the delay is too long I just call in. I have had my slow times as well, especially when dealing with diagnostics. But they are still better than Cisco, IBM, Microsoft, Riverbed and a host of others. good luck....

This is a great desire of my companies as well....

Has anyone created anything for Xenapp 6? Our Citrix team upgraded and now many items on these templates are down. Thanks!!!
