How many nodes will you be monitoring? what type of nodes? How many netflow devices will be reporting?
-
I'll open a ticket on this.... Anyone else see the same issue?
-
Please add this as a feature request. My executives HATE the 1 minute refresh that I must have for my engineers....
-
This was not added in the first version of routing monitoring, but we are hoping it gets implemented/supported in the very near future. To help it along, vote for it here: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/2227

Any ideas? I am failing so far :-)
-
Count me in on this.... our ASA's segment a huge DMZ....
-
My company is having the same issue. We need to run inventory more often but the time it takes to inventory 1000 devices is too long.
-
....nt....This script is great, but is there a way to use SNMP to monitor the processes? Message was edited by: Napoleon Crowe Looks like you can see the processes but only the parent. This makes it so the script is much better for UNIX systems

My UNIX guys told me that one of the volumes were the mount point, so we just had to translate and manually define the volume in the alerts. Works but time consuming. This goes for swap space as well.

When using v3, Cisco Meraki devices will use SHA1 for authentication and DES56 for privacy, with the configured password used for both. (context is blank) This works great....
-
try this: Re: Can you write a report or a job based on Show Commands?
-
Here are the commands on a Cisco Router: interface #### ip flow ingress ip flow egress (can duplicate traffic, optional) ip flow-export source Loopback0 ip flow-export version 5 ip flow-export destination {IP Address} 2055 (default port)
-
We would also be intrested in this. As a company we are continually trying to reduce the number of tools needed to perform our jobs, so having something like this integrated in LEM would be a big plus.
-
We have many Meraki AP's and we are now starting to look at pushing out firewalls and switches to all small sites, and soon possibly most sites. So I'm just getting started but anything helpful I will post as best I can.
-
We are slowly moving to all Meraki, as an SDWAN and for the switches and AP's Now that we are using SNMPv3 on them (use SHA1 for authentication and DES56 for privacy, with the configured password used for both. (context is blank)) the security is a bit better. The more data that can be pulled from the cloud the better.…

I end up using the alerting engine to handle this for me. In the alert I say statistic.1 is greater than 5 AND statistic.4 is greater than 15. Then my application is only pulling data and my alert determines the severity. My havin an action to display on the console, I now get a red event with whatever directions I want…
-
I TOTALLY AGREE. I have just received a requirement to make this happen.....
-
As soon as this will alert on traps and logs I will be all over it. But today we have many critical alerts for traps and syslogs that MUST be maintained. LOVE it, but I'll have to wait till the next version I guess....
-
Sorry I missed your previous post on trap alerts. I would be willing to join in on that. Maybe Thwack can create a section for it under "Content Exchange"
-
I found a better way of watching OID's. I hate traps in Orion. Separate alerting, etc. So, almost all traps are derived from an OID, so I create an application in APM (SAM) that watches that OID. Then I create an advanced alert that will display on my NOC screen, send an email and open a ticket in Remedy. Also, now I can…

sent... didnt run it through the thingy dingy though..... :-) I'll send more in the morning
-
so, the problem is that the alert goes off for each device, right? PLUS, each device every polling period. Is that true?
-
I did this same upgrade a few months ago. We own NPM, SAM, NTA, IPSLA (VNQM). NCM, and UDT. I upgraded NCM the same night so that they were both the latest version. I had zero issues (other than forgetting my NCM DB password). This was the smoothest upgrade yet, with the most to do....
-
Our alerts generate tickets in BMC Remedy and therefore we do not use the active alerts screen other then to clean things up once in a while. If we had integration with Remedy it would be AWESOME, but until then we just use our tickets....
-
We are having the same issue. I have an upgrade soon that I hope will fix it....
-
I am very intrested in this as well. I assume we would need a separate appliance to store all this...
-
I seem to have the same issue. It's as if the database is not updating correctly. My SQL DBA said she saw an excessive amount of errors in the database. We are still working on it today. I'll update with more details as the come.
-
congrats!! you've been kickin butt!

Error is: The communication object, System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannel, cannot be used for communication because it is in the Faulted state.

You can move most polling to an additional poller. This poller is a separate purchase. We have our core system handling all the administrative work, plus IPAM, NTA, UDT and other work as the core system. We purchased 6 pollers and 1 additional web server to off loaf the work from the core system. Here is a blog and drawing…
