This has become a big issue for us lately. The ability to alert on ports that go into err-disable mode.
-
This is something that I think everyone would want/need.
-
I thnk they may be looking for an APM / SAM template for monitoring the application. This should help: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/docs/DOC-145935

Looking forward to it!!!! Thanks!!

When you run these commands, do you have Orion and all it's pollers shutdown?
-
What data retention settings are you using? We are using Detail=30, Hourly=180 and Daily=780. Our DB is 120Gb and response is NOT optimal. We built the DB server dedicated to Orion, RAID 10, 15K drives, separate partition/drives for MDF, Log file, etc. We run NPM, SAM, NTA, UDT, IPAM, VNQM, WPM, and NCM. The web server is…

I like the weather resources. Nice HTML work!
-
How did you place you sites? Are they just educated guesses? or did you set them at the actual address on the map? If so ant tips for doing it faster? Looks great!!
-
We use LEM to do this. But you are correct that KiWi can do it as well.
-
I installed HF2 and it doesnt work. Opened a ticket (Case #1173783 ) and support said it will not work
-
aLTeReGo is what deverts true? It seems not because I just did an upgrade to 12.1 and after it said the core was 2017.1, but after the hotfix2 install it said rion Platform 2017.1.2 SP2
-
Nice job. Thanks, I will try this later today.
-
yes, I ran discovery, imported, loaded Atlas, dragged devices (highlighted all devices once) and clicked Connect Now. I do what MichalB stated and if that fails I'll open a ticket. Luckily tech support responds well and has always done a great job fixing all my issues. Thanks a BUNCH!!!

Is this feature implemented? I can't seem to find any reference to ANY NTA elements in the advanced alerts....
-
That's pretty much what I have done as well. Getting the access is the worst part for me since I do not own the servers and they hate giving me privileged access :-)
-
Question for you Byrona, You have a similar setup as we do. We currently only alert/open tickets on APM/SAM alerts. We will start with all the network very soon, but my issue is duplicate tickets. A site may go up and down 20 times in a day because of LEC issues, how do you prevent the duplicates.... I'm sure there is a…

Is it true that the data between the poller and SQL is NOT encrypted?
-
I agree. The ability to see your neighbors would be very helpful.then alerting can be built on a change in that table. We are not big users of BGP, but I am more intrested in the same idea for EIGRP and OSPF. With multiple neighbors/paths, its good to know when one is having an issue. Good examples...

Over 6 years later and it is still not an available resource....
-
Looks like this has changed. Where can we find the color codes to put in the event types table? We need a better color for alerts triggered... thanks!
-
We use a mix of Firefox and IE and both versions fail to "export to PDF" when you click it it just spins.... We are using 10.2.2 on Production and our DEV system is running 10.3 and both have the same issue. Anyone else see this?
-
I agree, we use UDT for similar things like knowing where a user is connected when they call in so we can check their interface settings and stuff like that. UDT is terrific I recommend it almost everyone
-
I am looking to do the same thing. Mgmt wants Cirrus to replace CiscoWorks, but without this feature they may go back to CiscoWorks. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

cmc::acm# diskusage Checking Disk Usage (this could take a moment)... ....oo. Partition Disk Usage: LEM: 100% (3.0G/3.0G) OS: 40% (1.1G/3.0G) Logs/Data: 42% (193G/492G) Temp: 3% (152M/5.9G) Database Queue(s): 12K (No alerts queued, unknown number of alerts waiting in memory) Logs: 30G Mine is at 100% and I cannot get into…

the manager.log provides little data other than what checklogs already displays. The % differs by less that 3% at random times. I'll open a ticket and see if something is set wrong. I'll update here when done.

I too would like to see all services, not to alert on, but from a historical perspective. When a system is having an issue we can look at the state of the services/process at that time to help determine what was going on. I have this same request for my server guys. They want to go to the server page and see what services…
-
I'll second the request Thanks all!!!!
-
How are you doing with this now? I have to do the same thing accross 5 52" monitors to display out to about 50 operations folks. The idea you displayed above looks great. Do you have any other improvments? Thanks a bunch, your ideas are a big help!!
-
We just got approval to buy it. Fun fun!
-
We have many uses for this. I noticed an idea/feature request for ability to create our own custom connectors. Maybe that would help this. We have many systems creating custom logs such as GIS, SAP, TWS, and many manufacturing specific systems that we would love to have in the LEM so everyone has access to them....
