Totally agree, I never used syslog or traps, but now that I need to use it I realize how cumbersome it is. Many in my IT group want to move all that to a different system just because of the lack of features in trap handling and alerting. I am trying to purchase the LEM and many ask me if its any good because they can't do…

We have over 100 different alerts and many are the same alert with some small change in it. I think this would be nice because I could have one "issue" with multiple nested variables.... therefore reducing the alerts I need to manage.

Forgot to mention that internships are great... win win and at least half of our current employees were hired that way, including our NOC team lead.

We use LanDesk to manage our workstations and servers. It pushes patches, takes care of inventory and distributes applications as needed. Creates a large amount of maintenance though. It has ways of limiting bandwidth accross WAN links so it was well recieved here.

I didn't see the connector when I looked... Feeling stupid now (nothing new). Hope to get this working asap... Is this a new connector?

Maybe the #bumpsqaud can help on this :-) As more cloud services use SSO this becomes more critical. I have a critical system where I sold WPM to use on it and now I'm looking like a fool because they can ONLY use SSO....

I think this comes back to the ability to see into VM View.... That is NEEDED... If Vman had that or UDT could handle it we would have purchased storage manager AND Vman both at high licenses.... This ability will keep SW above the rest and provide a much more complete system.... VDI is where many are going, or are…

this can expand to the ablility to add things to a MASTER chart. Like a blank chart with all chartable data clickable on the left.then you can overlay almost anything....

also, if you can update the description via UDT utilizing NCM as the process. In other words, UDT knows the description of the port that Sally is connected to. But the description is wrong on the switch. So in the Orion GUI I correct the description and click update and the description is updated correctly. easy peazy....…

One bad thing is the use of LPAR's. Memory and CPU via SNMP is based on the system not the individual LPAR....

I start my upgrade today, NPM, SAM, IPAM, WPM and UDT... I'll comment tonight
