Nice articles. Happy to see Microsoft's stance change although i'm sure it still won't make anyone actually use their browser.

I'm looking forward to getting some ubiquiti network equipment for home.

Thank you for the mission and congrats to everyone who won!

All green, what a wonderful month!! Good Luck to everyone!

One way is to click the View/Edit Values but I rarely use that method. That would not only allow you to configure the custom property for volumes but also give you a list of the configuration. Alternatively, to view the volumes configuration you could create a report and filter that with only values of True or whatever…
-
Have you verified you've created custom properties for Volumes? When Adding a Custom Property, select Volumes for object type: Once created, you should see in the Object column, Volumes. Anything with that object type should show up when you modify properties of Volumes.

I'm trying to find out what time the configuration polling is being done at and found this, not sure if it's right or how I could change it to match when we want the report to run. The above screenshot is from our Orion.VIM.PollingTasks table/view. It seems as though some of our vcenters aren't even polling and other ones…
-
we have a few different vcenters, I imagine their polling intervals are staggered a bit which could make it hard for me to link everything up. What is the best way for me to go about finding the configuration polling time for each vcenter? This report is scheduled to go out after all of our backups have finished. We've…

You'll have to select the volume from the manage nodes screen. expand the resources for a node and then edit that. Hope that helps!

Finally, yesterday I decided to reach out to Solarwinds who got back to me saying they'll reach out to PSI and get it resolved. Yesterday evening I received the voucher to reschedule to exam and they stated in their email that they resolved the technical issue as well. I'm scheduled to take the exam tomorrow now and will…

So I went to get you the fields we're looking at for our report and found that we are actually looking at locked VMDKs for this report. In the report we are only showing the proxy servers ( name like pxyavp or pxyavb ) and we exclude any VMDKs that may match that same criteria as those we don't care about. My apologies for…

The below SWQL Query will get you what you need. SELECT Name,Description,CreatedBy,Enabled FROM Orion.AlertConfigurations The AlertConfigurations table has what you're looking for, you can look at the full table using the SWQL Studio and find that data you need. The above command includes what you're after. prashantsingh…

Nope, I have also since verified that these .bin files are visible when sent to a gmail account. Although they come through with no extension, they still come through.

Thanks for your reply, happy to hear they sorted out your issue. They still haven't issue a voucher to me yet but they touched on the same thing you have regarding the SAM exam is still broken. They have stated that they want to ensure the issue is resolved prior to issuing me a voucher so that I do not encounter this…

That's what we did here as well. Created a Volume Custom Property of VolumeInfo_IgnoreDisk and when set to true the alerts won't trigger on them. With this we were also able to create an alert to Ignore volumes automatically that meet certain caption patterns. See below for our trigger conditions and the trigger action…

That's bizarre, mine didn't change at all and we're using EXO as well. Hoping if there were some changes, they are making their way to my side as well!

Thanks - I'm able to sign in with elevate as my username. I appreciate it!

Hey Serena, That's exactly what's happening, in the MOB here is what the memory is reporting for one of our hosts. That's good to know and i'll be sure to take this to VMware and see what we can do to clear these up. Really helpful to know where the information is being grabbed from! Thank You, David
-
Thank you for your response Serena. I took a look at the article you referenced to see if I can find where to configure the "configuration polling intervals" but couldn't seem to locate them in our environment. We're running 2018.4 and VMAN 8.3.1. Where can I configure this polling interval? It definitely helps knowing…

You should be able to get this report with a Custom Table and using a SWQL Query SELECT Name, Description FROM Orion.AlertDefinitions WHERE Enabled = 'True' I included Description in the SELECT line above thinking it may have value in a report where the Name alone would be pretty plain. If you don't like the description…

Sorry to hear that! What I can say is if you keep on working with SAM you'll learn the answers. If you can, join some of the live classes from customer portal. These two should help "Getting Started with Server & Application Monitoring" and "Building & Implementing Custom Application Templates". Best of luck to you.

If it helps at all i've look into the contents of these .bin files and they all seem to be HTML resources. jQuery CSS files Email Files
-
I've been seeing this as well in our environment. Only comes through when I want a report to send as HTML. If i send it with .PDF attachments there is no problem, only when HTML is in the message body. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how long ago it started but i'm guessing a month or 2 ago (we've been updating a lot lately)

Assuming the above allowed you to see the property, the next piece would be in the alert trigger action. When you select the email action you can plug in that variable into the To: section. When the email action is then sent out it will populate the To: field with that custom property.
-
I was able to successfully take the test last night. It appears they have resolved whatever issue was going on. Good luck to you when your test date comes!

neokevin have you had any luck on this? I'm experiencing the same issue with PSI. My exam was scheduled for 10/25 and had the same Java related errors. Support since then has been terrible.
