That's the perfect example, steel blues is what we use! I can see the benefit to both and maybe after using the other one for a while it would be ok but it's hard to give up the blues...

I was afraid the old .resource files would go away. I did something special where I took the code from the interface details Min/Max/Average bps In/Out resource and put it in the Current Percent Utilization of Each Interface resource so that we could click a single link and get a current graph of each interface. It ended…

It does seem much faster. While you're looking at things, I think it could be helpful if either of these two things were available: 1. Searching within the grouping (being able to search outside of it is still needed.) 2. More complex searches, search by node and interface as an example.

I ran the tool and looked through the VoIP service log and here is what I get: 2008-01-27 19:46:04,773 [6] DEBUG SolarWinds.Orion.Voip.Service.Service - { OnStart entered 2008-01-27 19:46:04,804 [6] DEBUG SolarWinds.Orion.Voip.Monitoring.AppContext - { Initialize entered 2008-01-27 19:46:08,352 [6] DEBUG…

I don't suppose there is anyway we could get that any sooner is there? We have a custom report built to do some Life Cycle managment and the devices that are showing "Cisco" are messing with our numbers a bit.

When I was doing my testing a few weeks ago, I was able to just use a "Small Instance" which costs about $0.12 an hour. That ends up being about $88 a month for a single instance (if you have it running all the time). You can get a cheaper per month price if you pay for a reserved instance (you have to pay an upfront price…

The last time I noticed it I had just added 2 48 port switches. I have my page value set at 60 so I was doing probably about 50 or so. It veries how many actually went through. Smaller groups don't always work either. One time I did about 10 and only about half went through.

Thank you! Given the weather here... you might want to use a 4x4! :)

Here's another issue I've seen with report writer. I tried to format the date to a specific format and it worked in report writer but the web version showed incorrectly.
-
Interesting... I set it for both the Node and the Interface Level. It would be really neat if it hid like the UnDP does for objects that weren't getting NetFlow Info.
-
Ok, I'll play with it to see what it looks like.

How many of you have multiple pollers? Now that SW has changed the licensing, I was thinking about moving the APM polling to poller bound. We only have about 200 pollers right now but I see it growing in the future. Our main NPM server was taking kind of a beating with APM, NTA, and over 9k interfaces.
-
I think that would be great!
-
Can that be added as an enhancement request? It would be great if we had the option to select the state. Uknown shows as up or down.
-
I use the following: ^! ^! NVRAM ^! Last ^! No configuration change since last restart ^ntp clock-period Although, I think the first one should cover the next three.

Yes, I saw the Syslog option in our ESA as well. The Webroot logs do have the syslog option. I'll try those. Are any of the other logs recommended?

I may be reading things wrong but from what I've seen, the table does not exist if there is no data in it. I've used GetIF for a quite a while as a mib walker. If I put in the top level OID of the table and do a walk, I get no data back. (The level I specified in the UnDP.) When a phone fails and I walk from that mib, I…

I went into Settings then Sites, selected the node and hit Delete. Went throug the next screens and submitted. Waited a couple minutes then went back to sites and re-added the device. (The name didn't change, just the IP.)

I was in writing a report the other day and this happened to me a few times. I was able to reproduce the problem. 1. Add a couple of fields 2. Have a field selected 3. Right click on another field and select Delete Current field This is going to sound dumb, but it crashed everytime on me the other day when I was doing that…

I understand. I've seen more requests for the SLA stuff than the VoIP stuff and you'll be able to hit a wider audience for the SLA. I was just hoping for more Cisco VoIP realated information. (I want to be selfish! :o) )

Thanks Yann! I think this could be very helpful once I get time to troubleshoot a little more. It should be interesting to see how this translates to a SAN.
-
That seems to have worked...
-
Sorry for the delay... I opened a ticket with support and ran into another problem with what I'm trying to do so I thought I'd come back to this since I hadn't tried it yet. From what I can see, I can limit my view based on custom properties but I can limit my view of custom properties.
-
The funny thing is none of the interfaces are checked. The only thing that is checked is the VPN Tunnel interface.
-
You have to manually assign nodes when you set them up. There's also a load balancing tool that you can use to specific the nodes and their poller. The install is pretty simple. I had our 3rd poller running in about 45 minutes after getting the server.
-
I guess you could say we're using option 3... We have our NPM Servers as hosts on our ESX Servers and our DB is a Host on our ESX Servers as well with all the storage being shared.
-
Do you have NCM installed on the same server as NPM? If so, you can use the NPM Syslog/Trap service to trigger the RTCN. (That's how we're using it and it works great.)
-
One thing I'd like to see is the ability to make a change to something that doesn't affect the sla and not have it re-apply the sla. For instance changing the response warning and critical times and not have it re-apply the sla.
-
Yes, but it's not really sharing. The web-console pulls data from the database and both polling engines dump data into the database. From a web console point of view, the additional pollers are transparent. (You can see stats from specific pollers and when you add devices you pick the poller but that's about it.)
