The good news is you can configure F5's to monitor the servers and take one or more out of the pool if it stops responding. I love F5's... I wish my current company used more of them.

I finally just gave the app the boot all together! I can still check by using the webpage and it's improved my real life immensely.

So far so good but we still have one more day left!

-
They're wearing those long sleeve shirts again too!

This is going to get worse before it get better I'm afraid. IPv6 and IP for every molecule in the universe o.O!
-
I'm not sure how anyone will get out of jail free if people start dying from faulty infrastructure though... sounds like a lose / lose situation in way. I feel for you sparda963!
-
This is all great advice. Alert logic is one of the more complex parts of monitoring.
-
I would like a custom black hat too!
-
4sure... the cloud just isn't there yet for some workloads... maybe time will tell?

We switched to a new backup software called Commvault a few years ago. It has more knobs, buttons, and switches on it than any software I've EVER seen! It's like the developers are programmers out of control and keep adding features until there's 4 ways to do the same thing. It's like a labyrinth of different ways use it!…

I'm just glad we've got people like you that are really good at this DBA thing! So I don't have to! Well not too often at least... I've been the accidental DBA more time than I'd like to count.

New mission new month I can't believe how fast 2024 is going! @"jeremymayfield" I too started with the Engineering Toolset before Orion got acquired by SolarWinds and became competition for HP Openview I was using on HP/UX at the time. It's been a long journey for sure! I finally opened the thwack MVP thing this weekend.…

Whew don't want to get deadlocked!
-
I guess they just had to make the PDP-11 complicated lol!
-
Yep it was just stripped from Reddit so it's hard to say for sure.
-
I those that "resolve" themselves!

Leon... we're doing some additional trade studies because we have additional monitoring requirements. Many can be filled by SolarWinds tools... many can't. Here's our current list: Monitoring and troubleshoot workspace vm'sDeep dive of issues that users exerience with their workspaceAlerts on XenDesktop/XenApp servers that…

Geesh the dog is like hanging in a sack or blanket off the side!!!
-
Mapping is an art form I would suggest... it's not something (like you said) that can all be automated.
-
This looks like such and improvement I can't wait to having all the modules in HCO, and improved installer and reorganized SQL Server database! ALERT FATIGUE is real!
-
I love the SQLserver for linux graphic!!!
-
Lol this one's pretty funny.

You're exactly right byrona! Trying to nickel and dime all the time ends up costing you as Trump would say... "Biggly" in the future! I'm pricing SRM too right now to also fill in the last bottom layer of the appstack... I will say this though... next to NCM SRM gets pricy fast as you pay by the disk.
