I suppose we'll all have to succumb to some public fedgov cloud to some degree... even in Federal space minus all the SCIF's and closed areas... in that case it is private cloud.

I'm hoping some of these new Orion NPM/SAM agents and stuff will help when this hits us. Due to the type of work we do we've avoided public cloud for the most part up to this point but now Amazon and MS are rolling out special clouds to customers like us.

Some of you people have a lot more time than me to think about some of this... regardless it's been fun to read as much of it as I can.

The Snowden issue was way more serious than the Apple one... Apple is just trying to sell more phones (US sales have dropped off drastically... China and some other countries they hope will keep it going somehow). The FBI is even asking for a back door into every iPhone... the whole argument Apple makes isn't even based on…

I ended up watching the entire video about using DPA to help migrate from Oracle to Postgres. Pretty neat stuff.
-
I think it will fall under this because snmp only would allow the node to be green without icmp :^}

Here's to SQL Server on linux and being freed of the Oracle headlock!!! I also love the elephant pic!
-
It really is honestly not usually the network... humbling when it is though...
